        FAIRY PREVIEW ON NU COUNTRY 
      Mid Pacific 
        Bob Olson hosts an exclusive preview of the 31st Port Fairy folk festival 
        on Nu Country TV this Saturday March 3 - at 9.30 p m on C 31.

          Popular 
            tourists Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch, about to make their latest Australian 
            tour, will join the singing chef. 
             
            The duo grows to a quartet for its April visit and was featured in 
            one of the big tents at the 2005 festival. 
             
            Associate producer Carol Taylor and frequent host Heather Rutherford 
            filmed the stars performing songs from their album You Can't Save 
            Everybody. | 
         
       
      Nu Country 
        editor and co-producer Kerry Richardson also filmed Bill Chambers and 
        band live from last year's festival with a song from his second album 
        Frozen Ground. 
         
        We also feature The Flood, who perform at Port Fairy from March 9-12, 
        and Graeme Connors and Karl Broadie who played there last year. 
         
        Among country artists performing this year is U.S bluegrass duo Dan Crary 
        and Don Ross, Lunasa, Canadian duo Madviolet, Anne Kirkpatrick, Shane 
        & Marcia Howard, Damian Howard & the Gentle Souls, Mick Thomas 
        & The Sure Thing, Cyndi Boste, Lost In Suburbia, Rich Family, The 
        Yearlings and the Sky Rockats. 
         
        This week's show is repeated on Wednesday at 5.30 p m and Thursday at 
        high noon. 
         
        Kane, Welch, multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin and Kane's drummer son 
        Lucas play Victoria on a tour that includes the Byron Bay Blues festival. 
         
        They are promoting their new album Lost John Dean on their Dead 
        Reckoning label, distributed here by Shock.

       THE 
        FLOOD  
      Sydney band 
        The Flood recorded a CD Live Down Here On Earth and DVD Plenty 
        of Time with Welch on one of his many tours of Australia. 
         
        The group performs a video of its Kevin Bennett penned single 2003 from 
        its third album The Late, Late Show on this week's show. 
         
        The Flood won the 2006 Vocal Group of the Year Golden Guitar for their 
        song Hello Blue Sky - first single off the album. 
         
        It toured Victoria last year with fellow Port Fairy guest Karl Broadie.

        KARL BROADIE 
      Expatriate 
        Scottish singer Karl Broadie was joined by The Flood on his second album 
        Black Crow Calling. 
         
        The singer, one of the finds of Port Fairy 2006, performs a video of his 
        song Long, Long Way.

        BILL CHAMBERS LIVE

          Bill 
            Chambers hot live band backed him as he showcased his second album 
            Frozen Ground at Port Fairy in 2006. 
             
            Editor Kerry Richardson captured Bill, touring with Fred Eaglesmith 
            & The Flying Squirrels in March and April, performing an energetic 
            set.  
             
            Chambers, raised in Southend and Millicent in South Australia, has 
            been producing other artists in the past couple of years. 
             | 
         
       
      One of his 
        successes is Victorian born latter day Byron Bay singer Sara Tindley's 
        second album Lucky The Sun (Vitamin). 
      He also played 
        on daughter Kasey's fourth solo CD Carnival and is promoting their 
        back catalogue of Dead Ringer Band discs, now in U.S. stores.

       GRAEME 
        CONNORS  
      Queensland 
        country star Graeme Connors recently toured Victoria with fellow veteran 
        Anne Kirkpatrick - one of the stars of this year's Port Fairy folk festival. 
         
        We featured Golden Guitar winner Anne's single Drive Away during 
        a recent episode of Nu Country - this week it's a video of Connors song 
        On A Roll. 
         
        The Mackay born father of five sons opened for Kris Kristofferson as a 
        teenager and has since won a brace of Golden Guitars.

        BROOKS & DUNN

             Mid 
              Pacific introduces superstar American duo Brooks & Dunn as the 
              roughage in his Port Fairy festival folk diet. 
               
              The duo hosted the recent CMA Awards in Nashville and won a brace 
              of gongs in a show that also rewarded expatriate Australasian superstar 
              Keith Urban who returns here for a triumphant tour in May. 
               
              Brooks & Dunn recently opened for the Rolling Stones on their 
              American tour - on one concert they played to 16,000 fans at the 
              sold-out show who paid as much as $350 for tickets. 
            They 
              perform a video of their song Building Bridges from their 10th album 
              Hillbilly Deluxe.  
               
              The duo first recorded in 1991 and frequently won the CMA duo of 
              the year except in 2000 when Montgomery Gentry broke the mould.

      Louisiana 
        born Brooks and Texan Dunn's fiddle player is Jimmy Stewart - one time 
        boyfriend of expatriate Australian starlet Catherine Britt. 
         
        Brooks has recovered from knee and shoulder surgery after suffering injuries 
        in an Indiana donkey race.

        winning singer Troy Cassar-Daley hosted the premiere of Series #7 of Nu 
        Country TV and is a valued benefactor. 
         
        The singer, who performed with Shane Howard and Sara Storer at the 2005 
        Port Fairy folk festival, is in big demand.
