MIRANDA EXPLORES HER BACK PAGES IN A PICK-UP

Miranda Lambert discharges her Pistol Annies and drives her pick-up truck through the mists of time to her idyllic past in the video for her new single Automatic.

Miranda, 30, started and finished her joyous journey in her attic.

She recalls when she used to tape Country Countdown on a blank cassette, send letters by snail mail, plan a road trip with a map and do things by hand - all with none of the new millennium disposable gadgets.

You know the drum - mobile phones, twitterers and texts.

Automatic is on her sixth album Platinum that's destined to live up to its name.

She didn't need the help of her singing spouse Blake Shelton who was busy with duties as a judge and mentor on the U.S. version of The Voice.

Miranda, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley are pursuing their solo careers after releasing their second Pistol Annies CD Annie Up.

JASON ISBELL NO LONGER TRAVELLING ALONE

When Jason Isbell toured here in April he had two more glamorous belles in his performing posse than an infamous visit with Justin Townes Earle.

Isbell, 40, enjoyed a triumphant Australian sojourn with second wife and fiddle playing singer Amanda Shires.

This week the former Drive By Truckers icon performs the video for Travelling Alone from his fourth solo CD Southeastern .

Texan born singer-songwriter Tift Merritt performed with Isbell on a dynamic double bill at Northcote Social Club .

Some critics believe that Tift may have upstaged her touring partner Jason.

THE MAVERICKS DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY

Floridian band The Mavericks reach back to their first lunge at fame when they perform their classics Back In Your Arms Again and Dance The Night Away in Behind Bars .

The band expanded their fan base when they played the 2013 Gympie Muster and a Sydney concert.

They returned to touring and recording in 2013 after a decade long hiatus

Back in Your Arms Again was not about bassist Robert Reynolds who once toured here with former wife Trisha Yearwood.

The Georgian singer and cook book writer is now wed to Oklahoma superstar Garth Brooks.

The Mavericks recently honoured Arkansas born singer and actor Glen Campbell with a version of a John Hartford gem Gentle On My Mind that won Grammys for both the late bluegrass singer and Campbell in 1968.

Hartford wrote it after seeing the Doctor Zhivago movie.

The song earned him huge royalties as theme for Glen's long running TV show

Singer Raul Malo, who cut six solo albums in the Mavericks ' decade long hiatus after six studio discs and two live albums between 1991 and 2003, also owes a debt to Campbell .

"I think part of it at least for me is just that - that it's not something that people would normally hear us play," Malo, now 48, says of their version of Gentle On My Mind .

MICK HUDSON AND THE BENDERS DUEL WITH THE DEVIL

Mick Hudson And The Benders are joined by a colourful cast in a humorous video for The Devil's County Fair .

It's just like a lazy winter arvo at your local CWA.

Bearded men in frocks, girls in hula hoops guitarist Duke Wilde wearing a Waylon Jennings tee shirt in front of a Confederate flag.

Devil's County Fair is on The Benders 2013 CD Ain't Coming Back.

Mick won acclaim in the Flaming Locos and Duke Wilde eulogised Waylon in his own band's songs Why Don't We Hear Old Waylon Anymore and Bring Back The Honky Tonk .

The new Hudson and Wilde band Hudson Wilde recently enjoyed a Burpengary police raid while making a video for new song High On The Hog at Narangba on the Sunshine Coast

BUNDABERG RUM, FLOODS AND WOMEN IN RED

Bundaberg balladeer Peter O'Brien is joined by a cast of women on stage, at the pool table and on the dance floor in the video for Red Dress .

O'Brien, 47, cut a blonde belle in a red dress from the rest of the herd in his clip.

The singer-songwriter has been active in flood relief in Bundaberg and beyond.

He hails from Kepnock, south-east of Bundaberg, and recorded Bundaberg Floods in 2011 to provide comfort to the town's flood victims and congratulate the community on their solidarity.

O'Brien, known for his duo The Boogie Brothers, posted his floods music clip on YouTube .

"Bundaberg is a wonderful city, full of great people,” O'Brien said at the time.

"I want to show people what a fantastic town we have."

The raging Burnett River divided Bundaberg after peaking at its highest level in nearly 70 years.
