Nathan Lamont Puts His Name On It

Tamworth Starmaker and Voice finalist Nathan Lamont had good reasons for calling his latest video Name On It.
Nathan comes from a family with 22 siblings.
Name On It follows I’m Calling Shotgun, Drink You Up and Skin To Skin also on his debut album.
“I was excited to feature my wife in this project,” Nathan revealed.
“She’s been the biggest source of inspiration behind my song writing and has been on the sidelines supporting me since day one, so to have the opportunity to work with her so closely on something I love has only brought us even closer together.”
“I grew up in and out of the foster care system but lived with my mother from about 5 years of age through till I left home at 16,” the Wiradjuri singer-songwriter revealed.
Living in public housing on a budget of welfare payments meant Wiradjuri singer-songwriter Lamont grew up quickly.
“Life was challenging in the care of my mother and I often had to fend for myself.”
It was through his stepmother Millie he discovered a passion for performance.
“She saw a lot in me.”
Nathan appeared on Young Talent Time (2010) and The Voice (2014, 2016) and was a dual finalist in the Toyota Starmaker quest.

Miranda Bury Smokes When She Drinks

Illinois star Miranda Bury performs a smoky drink saga on her Nu Country debut.
Miranda hails from tiny Illinois town Marissa and headed to Nashville to chase her dreams.
She filmed her I Smoke When I Drink video in Lebanon – that’s Lebanon, Illinois, not the middle east.
She wrote another hit Janis And Dolly about two of her heroines.
“That’s what I wrote it Janis and Dolly about, how it’s different writing country and you can still write country music when you’re not living in Nashville,” Miranda revealed.
“Lebanon is such an iconic town in Southern Illinois too and looking back, that town, that restaurant, it was meant for that song. It was really cool.”
Miranda’s debut album released June 30, 2023, features seven original songs performed acoustic with Lij Shaw at Toy Box Studio.
She has her own Facebook page and YouTube channel.
