Expatriate Australasian superstar Keith Urban returns to Australia in September to promote his 13th album High released on September 20.
The trip features a night of music and conversation with Urban titled Ridin’ High hosted by The Betoota Advocate at The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre in Marrickville, Sydney on Tuesday September 3, 2024.
The night features Keith performing live under the watchful eye of Australia’s largest golden prawn and sitting down for a yarn with The Betoota Advocate over a succulent Chinese meal.
One lucky fan may leave the room with a ribeye on their meat tray – just one of the many special raffle prizes taking place with all raffle proceeds donated to Landcare Australia.
The Betoota Advocate is famed for its satirical and incisive reporting and being at the forefront of quality Australian journalism.
Clancy Overell editor of The Betoota Advocate says “The Betoota Advocate takes great pride in playing host to Keith Urban’s homecoming performance. Our newspaper has been following Keith’s meteoric rise through the international country music scene since his early years on the Caboolture pub circuit. We have been playing his new album in the newsroom and the general consensus amongst our staff is that he’s still got it.”
Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre is named after the iconic former Australian Prime Minister.
The venue captures Hawkes easy-going spirit and love for the Aussie way of life.
“We’ve been lucky to host some iconic Aussies inside the Beer & Leisure Centre, but to welcome Keith Urban into the venue for an intimate gig will be extra special,” said Kate Sorensen, Hawke’s Head of Marketing. “While it’s not his hometown of Caboolture, we know Keith will feel the warmth of a Marrickville welcome, as he gifts us with his incredible talent on what’s sure to be a memorable night.”
Urban and Grammy wining recent Louisiana born Australian tourist Lainey Wilson have released their video for GO HOME W U featuring live performance footage from Nissan Stadium in Nashville during this year’s CMA Music Festival.
It’s the fourth single from Urban’s album High.
Urban, now 56, said “A friend of mine suggested the idea of making the song a duet and I immediately thought of Lainey. Besides the fact that I love her voice, she’s got the swagger and attitude that fit so well with the song.”
Urban’s High explores themes of living in the moment, human connection, and personal reflection.
“What makes you high can mean whatever you want it to mean,” Urban explains.
“For me, it’s my family, my friends, and the joy of playing live.”
Wilson won Entertainer of Year and Female Artist of Year and Music Event of Year for Save Me Jelly Roll at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May.
She released her fifth album Whirlwind on August 23 after touring here with Jackson Dean and Kameron Marlowe with a Margaret Court Arena concert on March 21.
Wilson, now 32 has won six Academy Of Country Music Awards and seven Country Music Association Awards.
She frequently appeared on Nu Country TV with her videos Texas When I Die, You Can’t Make Old Friends, Watermelon Moonshine, Wildflowers And Wild Horses, God Bless Texas and Hang Tight Honey.

Four-time Grammy winner and six ARIA Awards ace Urban has long been a supporter of Nu Country TV and former radio station Nu Country FM.
When Keith and his embryonic band The Ranch released their debut album they visited the Nu Country FM studio in Northcote.
They made an amazing entrée to the 2nd floor studio by climbing over the fence of the adjacent Northcote Leader Newspaper to be interviewed live on air.
Urban’s band earlier made their pub debut at the Prince Patrick Hotel in Collingwood with a modest crowd of 14 paying patrons.
Keith was born in Whangārei, New Zealand.
At the age of two he moved with his parents to Caboolture, Queensland, where he played ukulele at the age of four and at six took up guitar.
Urban, husband of actress Nicole Kidman, has since toured Australia several times to sold out Rod Laver Arena and festival crowds.
He donated his 12th album The Speed Of Now Part 1 to Nu Country TV as a reward for joining the station or renewing memberships.
