East Texan troubadour Vincent Neil Emerson, 29, debuts with his unique tribute to Lone Star state mentor Willie Nelson, aged 88.

Emerson's Willie Nelson's Wall video is on his 2019 debut album Fried Chicken And Evil Women.

The Myrtle Springs born, latter day Fort Worth singer-songwriter's second self-titled album was produced by fellow Texan Rodney Crowell and released on La Honda Records-Thirty Tigers on June 25.

His video preceded recent singles High On Getting By, Learning To Drown and Texas Moon.

“I got drawn into this project as a producer because I was immediately drawn to the poetry of the songs that Vincent writes,” Crowell revealed.

“To me it's in that Texas folk-singer tradition of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Ray Wylie Hubbard, myself and Steve Earle. When I heard Vincent's songs, I said, ‘I get this. I understand it. I want to be a part of this.' It's really exciting to me that there's another generation coming up with the sensibilities of really good, strong language and a respect for the tradition of poetic folk-singing and songwriting.”

Texan Granger Smith revs up a fleet of his favourite cars and trucks on his Behind Bars return.

Granger, 41, hosted a motor rally with a difference after touring here in 2018 with Fawkner born singer-songwriter Jasmine Rae.

None of those cars, trucks, tractors and mowers were in the car park of the Village Green Hotel in Mulgrave before or after their concert.

Smith, actor spouse Amber, brothers Tyler and Parker and children were joined by some good old young boys from his Yee-Yee Nation in the mud and mayhem of his raucous new video.

Chevys, Hemis, Yotas and Fords is on his 11th album Country Things Volume 2 .

Granger also owns Yee-Yee Apparel outdoor, lifestyle brand, with his brothers and alter-ego, Earl Dibbles Jr, and his book If You're City, If You're Country, They Were There: A Hero's Documentary and the River Kelly Fund.

Dandenong Ranges tradie-pianist and singer-songwriter Benny Allen returns with a new take on two-stepping through the tulips.

Benny survived power failures during violent storms during the pandemic.

No wonder he was tired all the time - he filmed and edited his video walking backwards.

Michael Carpenter and The Banks Brothers joined him on Tired All The Time that follows debut album Never Knew I Was Country.

A bout of insomnia and good mates inspired Tired All The Time.

“The song came to me at 3 o'clock one morning when I was lying in bed and my sarcastic inner voice was asking why I was so tired all the time,” Allen revealed.

“The chorus came to me, then little verse bits as I thought about those mates we have who say they're really busy working overtime, juggling family commitments and everything else and you wonder how they fit that all in.”

Tired All The Time features Benny on piano and vocals recorded in Melbourne, Michael on drums, acoustic guitars and bass, and Zane and Jy from Banks Brothers on electric guitars and pedal steel.

“I'm so excited about this song because I'm really happy with how it came together,” Benny explained.

“Mentioned in the song are a couple of good mates, too. I met Kim Wright and Aaron Jurd through the Academy of Country Music in 2018, and they fit the story in this song, so they're mentioned.”

“I want people to sing along with the chorus - my daughter has already told me it's an ear worm and has been singing it to herself after just one listen!” Benny added.

“This is an anthem for the people who don't get enough sleep.”

Benny won most popular balladeer and album at 2020 Independent Country Music Awards and best video at Australian Country Music People's Choice Awards.
