MUSTERED COURAGE PROVE HONESTY WORKS

Melbourne bluegrass band Mustered Courage returns with its video for Honesty from third album White Lies And Melodies.

The 2015 Tamworth Golden Guitar winning band launched the 12 track disc at Northcote Social Club last week after returning from the famed Telluride bluegrass festival in Colorado .

The group play Gympie Muster this weekend and used a race track to showcase a banana and lonely door.

Unlike the old Geelong gaol doors that were locked in previous video Cruel Alibis, this door was wide open.

Mustered Courage join Novocastrian Catherine Britt, Shane Nicholson and the Adam Eckersley Band on the local tributary of Lost Highway Records.

“There was definitely a maturing that took place in the album's symbolism, its instrumentation and its production,” says expat Texan lead vocalist-multi-instrumentalist Nick Keeling who played with guitarist Julian Abrahams in a hip-hop band while studying jazz in Canberra

“We didn't feel constrained by any style or genre for this one.”

Forrester Savell produced the disc - first to feature a drummer.

“We didn't want this album to sound like a regular country/bluegrass album,” says bassist Josh Bridges.

“We generally approach our performances with a rock mentality, so Forrester being more of a rock producer let us approach recording with that same attitude. Now that we have drums, we aren't constrained to just your standard train feels. Now we can play hip hop beats on Draw Five , swampy rocking Americana on Burning Bridges or indie sounding stuff A Thousand Bullets

Oklahoma-born singer Audra Mae (vocalist on Avici song Addicted To You ) guests on The Future .

She is the great-great-niece of Judy Garland and great granddaughter of Garland 's sister Jimmie.

After arriving in California in 2007 she signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and sang Bob Dylan's Forever Young on TV series Sons of Anarchy .

Texan Miranda Lambert, former singing spouse of Oklahoma star Blake Shelton, covered Mae's Little Red Wagon as the third hit from her 2014 album, Platinum .

DEEP CREEK ROAD WILLING

Melbourne quintet the Deep Creek Road perform way out east midst green fields and trees near a rural road in their video for fourth single What If I Was Willing.

Group members hail from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne , play Gympie Muster this weekend and CMC Rocks Queensland at Ipswich in March.

Singer-songwriters Steve Simmons and Jaime Holland front the band that released debut CD Cowboy on the Run in May, 2013.

ERIC PASLAY ANOTHER SONG ABOUT A GIRL

Abilene born singer-songwriter Eric Paslay returns to the show with his video for Song About A Girl from his self-titled debut disc.

The 32 year-old star's 700 song catalogue has produced a brace of hits for many peers.

We previously featured his first #5 smash hit Friday Night - also cut by prolific Grammy winning Georgian March tourists Lady Antebellum.

Eric also wrote She Don't Love You (She's Just Lonely) - his third single - with Jennifer Wayne but originally intended for someone else.

“We initially were trying to write a song for George Strait , because he had just announced that he was doing the Cowboy Rides Away Tour,” Paslay revealed.

“And Jen Wayne's grandfather is John Wayne, so she knows a lot about cowboys. So we were trying to just write that song, and we didn't quite have it.

“And in the midst, like songwriters do, of writing a song, just cutting up and small talk and this and that, and I think I said, you know, ‘She don't love you,' or she said, ‘She don't love you,' and I said, ‘Yeah, she's just lonely.' Just kind of joking around or something. Forty-five minutes later, we had written She Don't Love You .”

Although Paslay co-wrote Eli Young's Even if It Breaks Your Heart , Jake Owen's Barefoot Blue Jean Night and Love and Theft's Angel Eyes he has plenty of spares.

He co-wrote all 11 tunes including Country Side Of Heaven featuring Little Big Town and forgiveness fired Less Than Whole with Big Kenny Alphin.

At 6 ft. 6 in the old currency he towers above peers on stage but shares propensity for hook heavy love songs like Pontiac driven entrée Keep On Fallin , the black dress belle in Never Really Wanted and seasonal romance in Here Comes Love.
