DAVE'S DIARY - 29 SEPTEMBER 2003

FROM TASMANIA TO TEXAS

Audrey Auld
Audrey Auld, fresh from a series of acclaimed American concerts and guest role with Bill Chambers on the third Australian tour by Canadian troubadour Fred Eaglesmith, opens the show with the revealing video clip of her song I'd Leave Me Too.

Tasmanian born Audrey wrote most of her second album Losing Faith about her split with Bill after a four year romance but still performs with him and releases his albums on her Reckless Records label.

But the video of this song, from first solo album The Fallen, is an humorous vignette about a lover taking all his goods and chattels from the marital home after a ruptured romance.
Ironically, since releasing her latest disc Audrey has set up house with a new husband so the next video may depict a home being filled with love and furniture.
