KYLIE RYAN HEADLINES NU COUNTRY TV
Inverell born singer-songwriter Kylie Ryan and Oklahoma singer Cutter Elliott headline Nu Country TV in a home homage on Saturday April 27 at 6.30 pm on Channel 31/ Digital 44.
North Carolina American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and Kentucky outlaw Kelsey Waldon follow in a Behind Bars double shot on the show filmed and produced by Laith Graham and repeated Saturday at 2.30 am.
Former Missouri architect Ken Domash and Port Moresby born singer Amy Sheppard boomerang to our program this week.
Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.
This series is dedicated to late Nu Country TV host and treasurer Mid-Pacific Bob Olson and Vice President Rod Browne.

KYLIE LONG WAY HOME

Kylie Ryan recalls a joyous journey back to her youth in the first of our hometown videos.
Kylie was born in Inverell, moved to Sydney and now performs in Nashville where she has a deal with SSM Records Entertainment.
Her new video song The Long Way Home is an uptempo look back on falling in love and special moments spent with partners.
Kylie took to the roads and stage in her video.
She first hit charts in 2017 with Got Me In and is an avid writer of poems and songs.
She draws inspiration from a wide range of genres from "hair band" rock bands of 80's and 90's to today's Nashville Sound.
"A great song is a great song in any genre from any era," Kylie revealed.

CUTTER ELLIOTT COME ON HOME

Oklahoma singer-songwriter Cutter Elliott follows with his home journey.
Cutter overcame cerebral palsy, autism, partial blindness and deafness to chase his music dreams.
His latest video Come On Home follows his previous Nu Country video Heartache Waiting To Happen.
Cutter's combo waited around every corner for his girl to come back after a ruptured romance.
“Heartache Waiting To Happen is about the good possibility that the beautiful girl I am approaching could be a heartache waiting to happen, Elliott, now 29, revealed.
“And too good to be true.”
Elliott's triumph over his major illnesses inspired the Can't Never Could Do Nothin documentary.

KELSEY WALDON MONKEYS EYEBROW

Kentuckian Kelsey Waldon grew up in quaintly named Monkeys Eyebrow town in the west of her home state coal country.
Kelsey, now 37, strutted her stuff in the studio with S.G. Garton on her Nu Country TV return.
She performs Hello Stranger - an old A.P. Carter - not Johnson song.
It's on her seventh album There's Always a Song out May 10 on Oh Boy Records.
Kelsey worked on farms and tobacco fields before chasing music.
She previously fronted our show with Tall And Mighty from her sixth album No Regular Dog that Shooter Jennings produced for the late John Prine's Oh Boy label.
Kelsey also appeared on Nu Country TV with her Sweet Little Girl video from fifth album No Regular Dog released on August 12, 2022, and Anyhow from third album White Noise/ White Lines she produced with Dan Knobler.
It followed self-released EPS and debut 2014 album The Goldmine and 2016 disc I've Got A Way on 30 Tigers.
Kelsey's name is etched on the Monkey's Eyebrow town entry sign.
“As a Kentuckian, I grew up seeing signs like this all over my beloved home state - ‘Home Of' Merle Travis, Bill Monroe, Loretta Lynn, Keith Whitley, Ricky Skaggs, Dwight Yoakam, Patty Loveless, Tom T Hall, all of Country Music Highway 23 and countless others,” Kelsey revealed.
“Add this to the list of proud moments. Thank-you Ballard County officials for making it happen. It means a lot.”
Ballard County is shaped like a monkey's head and Monkey's Eyebrow is where the eyebrow would be or how the town looks like an eyebrow from a nearby hill or that the local general store was once only considered good enough for “a bunch of monkeys.”

SCOTTY MCCREERY RISE & FALL

North Carolina American Idol winner Scotty McCreery returns to our show in Behind Bars.
Scotty performed live for 92,003 fans at University of Nebraska Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
Scotty, aged 30, featured his son Avery in the studio in his Cab In A Solo video on his sixth album Rise & Fall.
He rose to fame when he won American Idol in 2011.
Scotty debuted on our show in 2012 with teen anthem The Trouble With Girls from debut CD Clear As Day that debuted at # 1 on Billboard.
Scotty was youngest country artist to debut at #1 on all-genre Billboard Top 200 with his debut album.
McCreery was born in Raleigh and raised in Garner where his dad is a manufacturing systems analyst and his mum a real estate agent and teacher.

KEN DOMASH ON THE RIVER AGAIN

Missouri minstrel Ken Domash was an architect for 14 years before chasing his music dreams.
He was inspired by his late father to chase his music.
Ken, now 56, reached back to his teen years in new Imagining video when he hit the water and fished and sang with a vast cast of birds below him in the water.
He had birds of different feathers on river banks.
Imagining follows his second album Welcome To My Rodeo.
Domash donned his dad's boots and belt buckle for his Nu Country debut with wife Aimee in his If I Was A Beer video on September 30 last year.
He had a choice of top shelf liquor and barmaids in Drink About That on our show on February 3 this year.
In February 2009 he wrote a song for an acquaintance who had just died of leukemia called Spinning Around.
“When I finished,” Domash recalled, “they asked me to play it again. By then one guy was weeping and I was almost in tears myself. It was one of those moments. They all looked at me, and one of them said “You need to go record that song. Within a month, I was in Nashville .”
Domash returned to Nashville in June 2009 and recorded first six songs of his album Countrified completed in January, 2010.

AMY THE GOOD SHEPPARD

Port Moresby born Amy Sheppard scored her initial success with her brother George and sister Emma in The Sheppard trio.
They released three albums before Amy appeared on The Masked Singer TV show.
Amy, now 33, emerged from the mirror to the stage when she sang for her supper in new video Overthinking that follows her debut solo EP Nothing But Wild and single Small Town Rumours.
The latter day Nashville singer wrote Overthinking with fellow expat Australians Lindsay Rimes and Phil Barton.
Overthinking explores aftermath of past relationship delve into constant preoccupation with former partner as they reminisce about shared memories long for their presence and grapple with difficulty of moving on.
The song encapsulates the overwhelming nature of overthinking and enduring impact of a love that refuses to fade away.
“ Overthinking is my biggest and boldest single to date, Amy revealed. “It's country but with a big serve of pop-rock swirled in the mix. I continue to be inspired by my musical heroes - The Chicks , Taylor, Shania, and Maren Morris, and I wanted to write a song that was equal parts heartbreak and belt out in the car with your friends.”

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling's favourite Texans.
The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas .
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 80, and son Shooter, 44.
