Kev and his band create a storm at the historic Threeways roadhouse near Tennant Creek. He describes Threeways as a song “that evokes the driving heartbeat of the Australian Outback, the arid landscape, the culture and the overall welcoming nature of its people. The general feel of the song Threeways calls the traveller to stop and visit an iconic roadhouse in a remote part of the world, staffed by backpackers and used as an oasis on the journey of those traversing the red centre of Australia. “We were nearly broke, busted and there was nothing for miles. We were feeling a little desperate. We stopped to perform a show at the Threeways Roadhouse fifteen miles out of Tenant Creek - a place I had visited many times over the years whilst on tour with bands. “The hospitality shown to the SulliVans by the owners of Threeways and the staff, many of whom were backpackers from around the world, really touched us and this experience was the motivation for this song.” The song has tongue-in-cheek messages for tourists coming to Australia as Kevin sings,” If you're coming to Australia and you've only got one week, call in to the Threeways Roadhouse , fifteen miles out of Tenant Creek”. Threeways starts with that driving, energised rhythm guitar sound, setting the tone for a song you'll have on repeat as you cover the distances of life's journey. “I wanted to create a sound like the good old days of traditional country music, thinking Johnny Cash, Slim Dusty, Merle Haggard and Charley Pride, with the guitars creating that driving beat, like travelling the highway.” Kev previously appeared on our show with The Stroll, Spend The Kids Inheritance and High Country Snows. Don't You Think This Outlaw Things Done Got Out Of Hand was cut by Waylon as the second single on his 1978 album I've Always Been Crazy. Whey dug deep into his family tradition dating back to his grandfather Waylon and his grandmother Jessi Colter with previous Nu Country video Just Before The Dawn - title track of his third EP released on September 22, 2023. His previous EPS were Gypsy Soul in 2020 and If It Wasn't for The Sinning in 2022. Whey writes and sings about his personal struggles with addiction, finding sobriety and redemption through faith, family and friends. “Out of 42 years on this earth I lived 38 of them in the darkness,” Whey revealed. “I was pretty well a functioning drug addict and an alcoholic. I found the light three years ago by the grace of God and my Momager, Tammy. I have a beautiful wife who has also stood by my side, and six beautiful children who continue to love me. I've decided to dedicate this EP and my life to them. “My story is a little different than most. Even though my grandfather was Waylon and my uncle is Shooter, I didn't initially chart a life course at being a full time musician or recording artist, even though I was on the road with my family as a young child.” Fisher previously fronted our show with Daughter Of An Outlaw, Hank Williams homage Hank, Nashville, High On The Bottle, People Like Me, This Town, Life Of A Working Man, Life Of A Working Man, Hankles and Jesus and Haggard & Jones.
