Kentucky young gun and American Idol graduate Alex Miller boomerangs to the show hosted, filmed and produced by Laith Graham and repeated Wednesday at 12.30 am. Prolific expat Kiwi award winners Matt Joe Gow and Kerryn Fields and Sydney singer-songwriter Andy Penkow also return this week. Queensland born speech pathologist singer-songwriter Kia Rodrigues boomerangs as Missouri Flat River Band debut. Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44. Further info - https://www.c31.org.au/ OLD DOMINION BEAUTIFUL SKY Virginian quintet Old Dominion perform live in a paddock on their Nu Country return as they use a tequila metaphor to celebrate the neon beyond the daylight. Beautiful Sky is on their fifth album Memory Lane. They recently fronted our show with Some Horses also on Memory Lane. The band formed in Nashville in 2007 after writing hits for diverse artists and perform as Old Dominion - nickname of home state Virginia. They played 2018 CMC Rocks Queensland festival where they filmed Never Be Sorry from their self-titled fourth album. Old Dominion released a documentary to support previous video Some People Do. It details celebrity men's groomer Jason Schneidman who worked with Old Dominion after being homeless and overcoming drug addiction. Jason helps Los Angeles homeless, providing free haircuts to connect with those battling addiction issues and funds scholarships to rehab centres. The band supported Schneidman's Men's Groomer Foundation that helps people get off the street and back on their feet and works with rehabs in California providing funding through sales of Schneidman's products. Band member Brad Tursi wrote Light It Up with Luke Bryan on his sixth chart topping album What Makes You Country that he toured here to promote. Old Dominion also fronted Nu Country with Dancing Forever, Make It Sweet, Hotel Key, Written In The Sand, Be With Me, Song From Another Time, Shoe Shopping and No Such Thing As A Broken Heart. CLICK HERE for an Old Dominion feature in The Diary on September 18, 2017 ALEX MILLER HAULS HAY Third generation Kentucky farmer and singer Alex Miller explores another riveting romance chase on his Nu Country return with a live performance at Missouri State Fair. Alex, now 21, recalled working on his grandpa's farm as a kid where he met a blonde belle who drove tractors and trucks. Miller grew up on his family farm in Lancaster and was 17 when he appeared on American Idol. Alex performs his Putting Up Hay video on new EP Country that follows two albums. Miller moved from playing guitar on the back of his pick-up truck to serving behind the counter in a diner in his pursuit of a femme fatale who keeps on running at her own pace in previous video Girl I Know A Guy on his second album that followed his Miller Time debut on Billy Jam Records. Miller mourned late grandfather, GB Miller, who died at 75 on July 3 in 2022 in his previous Nu Country appearance in When God Made The South. Brothers Andy, Chad & Dennijo Sitze are a third generation family band. God Bless The Radio is on their new five song EP Sights and Sounds that follows their three albums. They performed with their parents and grandparents as they fronted at Silver Dollar City in Branson , Missouri . and at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The trio charted #1 hits on bluegrass gospel charts and opened for The Chicks, Natalie Maines, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent and T.G. Sheppard. Their songs featured in 2018 movie The Least of These, A Christmas Story , featuring Duane Allen of Oak Ridge Boys , Deborah Allen and Tayla Lynn - Loretta Lynn's granddaughter. They performed live at Art Rugs at inner Melbourne suburb Fairfield. Love You Like I Can follows Your Heart Of Gold on their duo album that follows four albums by Matt Joe, voted 2023 Music Victoria country act of the year. Gow, 43, released fourth album Between Tonight And Tomorrow last March during his tour of New Zealand and Australia. “My band was riding high having won the Music Victoria Award for best Country Album,” Gow revealed of the album written in 2019 but delayed for release because of the pandemic. “We were being invited to play some amazing festivals and shows and were preparing to record the new album. We were feeling good, and after the highs and lows of the previous three albums.” Matt Joe and his Dead Leaves band also fronted our show with Sweet Collapse - second single on Between Tonight & Tomorrow - and Til My Whole Heart Bursts . He also offered to lift the load off his gal pal's shoulders. Andy, now 38, has appeared in many movies and TV shows. Heavy On Me is on his 14 song fourth album Loves, Lies & Dirty Dishes. Andy recently fronted our show with his Aussie Rain video that paid tribute to flood, fire and drought ravaged farmers. He also appeared with his Ghostly Gums Walking Away video that was nominated for Bush Ballad of the Year at the 2023 Golden Guitar Awards. Andy fronted Nu Country with 1993, How Many Times, Protected Love, Wildflowers, Drowning In The Whiskey and Before I Go . Penkow was living on the NSW coast when he joined SBS choir and appeared in Mel Gibson 2000 TV movie Three Stooges , the Deck Dog's movie, Deadly Woman and Sunday Night in 2017. Kia, 28, escaped to the forest after her foe hit the bottle and declined to give therapy to the heavy drinker in her Ain't Your Rehab video. It joins previous videos Message In A Bottle and High School Reunion on her debut album out later this year. In 2019 she was a semi-finalist in Tamworth Songwriters Association awards - her song Mr Vanity earning Comedy/Novelty song of the year. She also appeared on Channel Ten's Young Talent Time and The X Factor in her 16 year career. She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge. Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas. Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 80, and son Shooter, 44.
