KEVIN SULLIVAN HEADLINES NU COUNTRY TV

Former police detective chief inspector and forensic crime analyst Kevin Sullivan headlines Nu Country TV on Saturday February 10 at 6.30 pm on Channel 31/ Digital 44.

Dual Grammy winner Lori McKenna and North Carolina chanteuse Priscilla Block boomerang to the show filmed and produced by Laith Graham and repeated Wednesday at 1.30 am.

Canadian singer-songwriter Kalsey Kulyk and Iowa singer Adam Whitehead debut in a Behind Bars outlaw double shot.

Prolific hit writer and Golden Guitarist Matt Scullion returns to the show with rural wisdom.

SULLIVAN LEADS STROLL THROUGH THE BARN

Former detective chief inspector Kevin Sullivan leads his family and vast cast of lively line dancers in their joyous journey at Maura and Joe Cato's The Barn at Foxground at Kiama.

Kevin lives on the NSW south coast at Gerringong near Kiama and heads his family band with his wife Belinda and their three children.

They join him on his uplifting The Stroll video that follows his second album Against The Tide.

Kevin frocked up and filmed previous Nu Country video Spend The Kids Inheritance - a satiric song inspired by meeting grey nomads on tours with his family band - at Surfers Paradise, Hope Island, Sanctuary Cove and Brisbane Airport

Their family touring troupe includes their three children, KJ aged 11, Cha Cha aged 9 and Jet aged 6, all doing distance education with Belinda who is backstage manager.

Kevin also appeared on Nu Country with Bill Chambers in High Country Snows video filmed in Mt Buller, Merrijig and Appin with Kellie Lovick from famed high-country Lovick family before the 2020 bushfires.

Sullivan was a forensic police crime scene investigator and retired in 2011 as a detective inspector after an injury and has been a professional musician for six years.

"I had a great career in the Police but music was always my first love," Kevin revealed.

"When I got out of the Police I thought it was never too late to chase your dream so I became a musician We do a bit of everything and I throw a bit of original stuff in when people aren't looking."

MATT SCULLION BUSH WISDOM

Fellow NSW singer-songwriter, Golden Guitarist and prolific hit writer Matt Scullion returns to our show with some rustic rural wisdom in his The Bush Takes Care If Its Own video.

The Ulladulla born singer hangs his hat in Newcastle and appeared in Paul Hogan-Shane Jacobsen movie Charlie & Boots.

That movie featured his song Giddy Up from his album Put It Down To Experience.

This time he performs The Bush Takes Care Of Its Own that follows his sixth album The Legend Of The Lamp.

Matt eulogised unsung hero - coal miner Harry Littlefair killed in World War 1 - who hailed from Neath near Cessnock in Hunter Valley in his previous The Legend Of The Lamp title track video.

Scullion also fronted our show with 1868 about our first indigenous cricket team to win fame overseas.

He vividly depicted how 13 pioneer unsung heroes from Harrow in western Victoria played 47 matches against UK teams from May to October in 1868 including famed Lords oval.

PRISCILLA BLOCK DRINKS JACK

North Carolina singer-songwriter Priscilla Block illustrates her Nu Country return with her love of a strong drink to ease her broken heart.

She frocks up as she hits the heights of a tall building to plea with her banished beau to return.

Priscilla, now 28, performs her Hey Jack video that follows her debut album Welcome To The Block Party and two EPS.

She previously fronted our show with her videos for Off The Deep End, Thick Thighs and My Bar.

LORI MCKENNA TOWN CLOSE TO HER HEART

Dual Grammy winner Lori McKenna celebrates her love of her favourite town in her return to our show.
Her video for The Town In Your Heart follows her 15th album 1988.

The Massachusetts 55-year-old mother of five children has been married for 30 years.

She has written hits for many peers including singer actor Tim McGraw with whom she wrote Gravity for movie Free Solo about Alex Honnold's pursuit to free solo climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.

Lori won Grammys for writing McGraw hit Humble & Kind and Little Big Town smash Girl Crush.

She previously fronted our show with fellow song writer Hillary Lindsey on their video Killing Me.

Lori was joined live in the studio on Nu Country by Hilary and Liz Rose on their tune When You're My Age from her 14th album The Balladeer.

She also fronted our show with Balladeer title track video and depicted time travel in Young And Angry Again - one of 11 songs on her Dave Cobb produced 12th album The Tree and The Bird & The Rifle.

McKenna has also written hits for expat Australasian superstar Keith Urban.

McKenna and Brandy Clark wrote Three Kids No Husband for Lori's eighth album Numbered Doors in 2014 after meeting a woman with five children and no husband.

It appeared on Clark's second album Big Day In A Small Town inspired by a YouTube video Clark created to introduce Pray to Jesus from her 2013 album 12 Stories.

KALSEY KULYK LOVE LIKE AN OUTLAW

Canadian singer-songwriter Kalsey Kulyk opens our outlaw double shot in Behind Bars with a vibrant video Love Me Like An Outlaw.

She was born in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan in a mill and farming family.

As a teenager Kulyk was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and underwent months of chemotherapy treatment.

Kalsey, now aged 30, married fellow singer Eric Ethridge in December 2019.

During COVID-19 pandemic the couple lived in a van and performed in it across Canada calling their informal tour Love on the Road .

In August 2021, Kulyk gave birth to the couple's first child, a son named Wilder. Kulyk and her family now live in Beaumont , Alberta .

Love Me Like An Outlaw follows her self-titled EP and singles Ain't Enough Whiskey, Who I Was, More Time, Big Deal, Bad Liar, Roll With It, Not All Angels Can Fly and Breathe Again.

ADAM WHITEHEAD OUTLAWED

Iowan born singer-songwriter Adam Whitehead quit his corporate career to follow his musical dreams to Nashville.

He debuts on our show with the second of our Behind Bars double shots - a concept video produced by Stacy Hogan.

Outlawed is on his 2021 album The Way Whitley Done It that follows debut EP Single Mum that hit #2 on Apple Country Albums Chart behind Gabby Barrett in June of 2020.

Adam was born in Marshalltown Iowa and raised in Lynnville, Iowa.

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling's favourite Texans.

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.

She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.

Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.

Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 80, and son Shooter, 44.
