CHARLEY CROCKETT HEADLINES NU COUNTRY TV

Texan singer-songwriter and recent Australian tourist Charley Crockett headlines N u Country TV at 6.30 pm on Saturday June 24.

Expat Kiwi Matt Joe Gow and fellow New Zealand native Miranda Easten appear in Behind Bars on the show repeated Thursday at 1 am.

Albury singer-songwriter Hayley Jensen, Echuca refugee Gareth Leach and Louisiana man Dylan Scott boomerang to the program filmed and edited by our multi-talented lockdown producer-host Laith Graham.

Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.

DAVY CROCKETT DESCENDANT CHARLEY CLOWN PRINCE

Texan Charley Crockett proves why he won new fans on his March Australian tour on his return to our show.

Charley, now 39, acted out his alter ego - not as a joker but a clown in his new video.

I'm Just A Clown is on his 12th album The Man From Waco on his Son Of Davy record label.

MATT JOE GOW VISITS GEORGE LANE

Expat Kiwi singer-songwriter Matt Joe Gow filmed his latest video at George Lane in St Kilda before his tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Gow, now 42, chose the venue for the title track of his fourth album title track Between Tonight And Tomorrow released in March.

It was filmed throughout Aotearoa in New Zealand while they were on tour at The Bay Of Islands country music festival.

The video concluded in The Woodshed studio, Eltham, where Gow records and produces with his Dead Leaves band member and co-writer Andrew Pollock

Matt Joe has since released new video Your Heart Of Gold with touring partner Kerryn Fields.

MIRANDA EASTEN ENJOYS THE VIEW

Fellow New Zealander Miranda Easten takes a joyous journey in her sports car to find her freedom in her new video.

Miranda finds her new love on horseback after playing her guitar on a mountain.

She enjoyed the view so much she drove him home on a road trip with a happy ending.

View From Here is on her debut album Behind Unbroken Strings cut in Auckland.

The singer-songwriter-poet-writer hails from Canterbury and began performing at Christchurch School of Music.

She studied Contemporary Music & Performance at the Ara Institute of Canterbury Music Arts where she received the national certificate of contemporary music and performance and Sole Music Academy .

She gained musical experience while working with Greg Johnson as executive producer for his album Swing the Lantern and collaborated with him on Stars & Dreams & Stay , both released in 2017.

Miranda was also one half of the duo The Manuka Set with Deep Obsession's Vanessa Kelly.

After becoming a solo artist in 2019 she recorded Behind Unbroken Strings at Roundhead Studios in Auckland with producer Greg Haver.

HAYLEY JENSEN LIVE NORTH OF THE MURRAY

Albury born singer-songwriter Hayley Jensen returns to our show live with her band.

Hayley, now 40, chose stages not swings for her Duncan Tombs produced video.

She wrote it with Clayton Bellamy of Canadian band The Road Hammers.

Better Than That is on her third album Breaking Hearts .

Hayley ended up Behind Bars in previous Nu Country videos Shake My Bones and Karma after taking revenge on a cheating cad.

Shake My Bones was the sixth single on Breaking Hearts .

GARETH LEACH RODEOS AND ROMEOS

Echuca born Melbourne outlaw singer-songwriter Gareth Leach and his band head to a Bendigo rodeo in his latest video.

Gareth, now 37, didn't get bucked at that rodeo but he and his band raised their own hell on stage as cattle and horses fought their battles.

Gareth also performed live at Lulie Tavern near his home in Abbotsford.

Habitual Line Stepper is on his third album Trigger that shares its name with Willie Nelson's guitar.

Gareth teamed with Victorian bluegrass duo The Davidson Brothers on our Series #56 premiere.

Leach was joined by Gippsland born Hamish and Lachlan Davidson in the bush by the water in his new video.

Big Ole Feelings is on his fourth album Gareth Leach and the Narratives of Hope that follows Trigger.

He fronted Nu Country with videos for Trigger, For Better Or Worse, Turn Back Jimmy Creek and Death & Taxes, filmed at Echuca railway station and Murray River dock where the Emmylou paddle steamer sails from.

DYLAN SCOTT SEARCHES FOR LOVE

Louisiana born Dylan Scott shows how fixing a flat tyre for a distressed damsel can lead to love in his latest video.

Dylan shared other happy meetings between beaus and belles but stressed his wife Blair Robinson was not on the market.

Scott met her when they were 15 in their hometown Bastrop and now have two sons in Nashville.

Dylan, 32, toured here and played 2019 CMC Rocks Queensland festival.

Can't Have Mine is on his second album Living My Best Life.

Scott and Jimmie Allen explored Biblical themes in the wild outdoors that echoes their lives in his recent Nu Country video In Our Blood from his second album Living My Best Life.

Dylan first visited Nashville when he was 15 with his dad who played guitar with country stars Freddy Fender and Freddie Hart.

His great aunt was producer Tony Brown's piano teacher, and another relative, Marie Jarvis, played piano with the Blackwood Brothers and the Stamps.

Scott hit the charts with six singles from five EPS and his debut album.

He previously fronted Nu Country with videos for Nothing To Do Town and Hooked penned with expat Novocastrian Morgan Evans.

WIN WAYLON, GEORGE JONES AND MERLE HAGGARD

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling's favourite Texans.

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.

She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.

Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.

Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 79, and son Shooter, 43.
