TEXAN DANIELLE BRADBERY HEADLINES NU COUNTRY TV
Texan Danielle Bradbery headlines Nu Country TV on Saturday September 2 at 6.30 pm on the eve of her debut at the Riding Hearts Festival at Melbourne Showgrounds on November 5.
Sixth generation Cherokee Oklahoma rancher C.J. Garton and his brother debut in a Blues mobile on the show repeated on Thursday at 1 am.
Mississippi sisters - singer-songwriter Nata and drummer sister Tinka Morris - front American Blonde as they boomerang to the program hosted by our loyal producer Laith Graham.
Third generation Tamworth singer-songwriter Ashleigh Dallas, fellow prolific Golden Guitarist and Cronulla music teacher Luke O'Shea and Iowa singer Jay Allen also return this week.

Texan star Danielle Bradbery was just 16 when she became the youngest winner of The Voice in 2013.
So it's fitting Danielle, now 23, headlines our show on the eve of her major role at The Riding Hearts festival at Melbourne showgrounds on November 5.
Danielle was born in Houston and shares the bill with artists diverse as Sam Barber, Matt Schuster, Alana Springsteen, Valvo and Australians Seaforth, Sara Berki and Zac and George.
She performs in her video for Runaways from her third album In-Between.
Danielle followed her musical dreams at Cyprus Ranch High School.
Her self-titled debut album was released on November 25, 2013, and second album I Don't Believe We've Met on December 1, 2017.

CHEROKEE BROTHERS IN A BLUES MOBILE

Sixth generation Cherokee and Oklahoma rancher C.J. Garton and his brother debut on our show in their Blues mobile.
They illustrated their Good Gone video portraying a musician just released from prison and facing his farm repossession.
The Garton brothers filmed their saga at Briston Juvenile jail in Oklahoma - not his 6.000 acre ranch where he raised horses, sheep and cattle.
Their 40 horses include two named Honcho and Lefty named after the late Texan Townes Van Zandt song Poncho And Lefty.
Good Gone is on Garton's new double album Tales Of The Old Wild West on his own label.

AMERICAN BLONDE DRIVE DIFFERENT HORSEPOWER

American Blonde - Mississippi songwriter/guitarist Nata and drummer sister Tinka Morris - kick start their own style of horsepower on their Nu Country TV return.
They hit the speedway in their dynamic driving in All Horses Firing .
The Morris sisters formed American Blonde in their hometown of Cleveland , Mississippi after their musical birth as the Southern Halo trio with third sister Hannah in the delta.
They released their Just Like in the Movies album in 2018.
American Blonde also appeared on our show with their Volcanic video filmed in an East Nashville warehouse studio with Grammy winning fiddler Tammy Rogers of The Steel Drivers, guitarist Pete Horne and bassist Will Garrett.
It followed their previous Nu Country appearance with Quicksand.
All Horses Firing is on American Blonde's third album Something in The Water.

JAY ALLEN TRIES A JELLO SHOT

Another Voice guest - Iowa born singer-songwriter Jay Allen and his wife Kylie Morgan celebrate summer in their return to our show.
They filmed their joyous video at country queen Reba McEntire's former mansion that is now a 5-star resort in Lebanon, Tennessee .
The Cedar Falls singer's song Jello Shot is on his new EP Bulletproof.
Allen debuted on our show with his ode to late mum Sherry Lynn Rich who died in 2019 of Alzeimers.
Jay, 38, honoured his mum at the altar with candles and pictures in his evocative No Prayer Like Mama's video.
He also depicted mothers cheering their children at sport and walking them down church aisles at weddings.
Jay wrote the song with Justin Morgan as a tribute to the love and sacrifice of mothers.
The song was born out of Allen's experience of losing his mother to Alzheimer's disease and honours the memory of all mothers who dedicated their lives to their children, even in the face of adversity.
"That process was a difficult journey, but now I find strength in believing that my mom is still with me,” Jay explained.
“I hope this song brings honour to both mothers in heaven and those still with us."
Jay raised $50 million for Alzeimers research with his previous hit Blank Stares.
No Prayer Like Mama's is also on his EP Bulletproof.

ASHLEIGH DALLAS DOUBLE SHOT

Third generation Tamworth singer-songwriter Ashleigh Dallas and Cronulla music teacher and fellow prolific Golden Guitarist Luke O'Shea return with a dynamic double shot.
“They duet on Next Best Thing they recorded before Ashleigh filmed Over To Me at Dungowan Station, 30 minutes outside of Tamworth.”
Five-time Golden Guitarist Dallas, aged 30, began at 17 as fiddler in Kasey Chambers band and filmed her Over To Me video for her fifth album In The Moment.
Ashleigh is granddaughter of country pioneer Rex Dallas, daughter of her producer Brett Dallas and mother of daughter Harriet who appeared in previous video Lottery, written for her husband Chris.

Luke and Ashleigh won a Golden Guitar for their Long Way Round video - he released his eighth album There In The Ochre in 2020.
Sixteen time Golden Guitarist Luke, 54 and father of three, joined Dallas on Next Best Thing they wrote after the death of Grammy winning Texan singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith, aged 68, on August 13, 2021.
Nanci, youngest of three siblings, was born in Seguin , Texas but raised in Austin and released 25 albums after making her stage debut at 12.
She was married to singer-songwriter Eric Taylor from 1976 to 1982 and in the early 1990s she was engaged to singer-songwriter Tom Kimmel.
Nanci toured with Buddy Holly's band the Crickets , John Prine, Iris DeMent, Suzy Bogguss, Judy Collins and Everly Brothers .
She also recorded duets with Emmylou Harris, Mary Black, John Prine, Don McLean, Jimmy Buffett, Dolores Keane, Willie Nelson, Adam Duritz of Counting Crows , Chieftains , John Stewart and Darius Rucker of Hootie & the Blowfish.

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling's favourite Texans.
The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 79, and son Shooter, 43.
