Texan star Miranda Lambert headlines N u Country TV Wednesday October 26 at 8 pm with an entrée from her 10th solo album.
Fellow Texan Matt Castillo and Californian Nate Smith debut on the show repeated Saturdays at 11.30 pm.
Former Git singer Sarah Carroll and NSW singer-songwriters Hayley Jensen and Danny Phegan also appear on the program filmed and edited by our multi-talented lockdown producer-host Laith Graham.

PISTOL ANNIES PALOMINO PAL RETURNS

Miranda Lambert returns to our show without her Pistol Annies trio who have released four albums.
Miranda, now 39, performs in the middle of a road as she showcases Strange - second hit on her 10th solo album Palomino.
She wrote it with Nashville hit writers Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby and follows top 10 hit If I Was A Cowboy - the 15th of her career.
"Strange is permission to just let go for a sec," Lambert revealed.
"We were really wanting the chorus to lift - literally and emotionally - and go into a happy place. It's such a song for the time that we're in right now, but it doesn't feel like it won't matter in 10 years, either.
"We couldn't land on a bridge," she said of their writing.
"So, each one of us went and wrote a bridge on our own and came back and we ended up using lines from each person's so we cowrote that without even meaning to. It was pretty cool. Everyone was different but when we took lines out of mine, Luke's and Natalie's, it all fit together."
Lambert celebrated her 37th birthday on November 10, 2020, with second husband Brendan McLoughlin - a New York city cop.
She wed Brendan on January 26, 2019, in Davidson County, Tennessee.
It was Lambert's second wedding after her four-year marriage to Blake Shelton from 2011 to 2015.
Lambert and frequent Texas co-writers Jack Ingram and Jon Randall new 15 track disc - the Marfa Tapes , was released on May 7, 2021.
Miranda cancelled her debut 2019 Australian tour with Brothers Osborne and 13th CMC Rocks Queensland festival in Ipswich.

MATT CASTILLO FAMILY COWBOY LEGACY

Fellow Texan Matt Castillo praises his family's cowboy legacy in his Nu Country TV debut.
Castillo showcases how his folks keep the cowboy tradition alive.
The Austin-born indie star sang of his life in Edinburg prairies with proof in his family's wrinkled hands.
Matt penned Cause He's A Cowboy with Karen Staley.
It's one of nine songs he wrote on third album How The River Flows produced by Roger Brown in Nashville.
"This album has been two and half years in the making," Castillo revealed. "The goal was for every song to be great, and for every song to have substance, and I feel like we've achieved that. Roger and I put a lot of thought into choosing the songs. We also had some long talks about the sonics of this record. We wanted to keep the South Texas flavor but also to give it a universal vibe that will resonate with a wide range of listeners.”

NATE SMITH WHISKEY AND WILDFIRES

Californian singer-songwriter Nate Smith drowns wildfire memories with hard liquor in his Nu Country debut Whiskey On You.
He had good cause to drown sorrows with Tik-Tok creator Katie Demps Dempsey.
In 2018 Nate lost his home in devastating Butte County Camp Fire that decimated his home in Paradise.
He followed previous singles Wildfire and I Don't Want To Go To Heaven with Whiskey On You.

SARAH CARROLL RIDES ON A HAUNTED HIGHWAY

Former Git singer Sarah Carroll shows how she dealt with the sudden death of her singing spouse Chris Wilson who died of pancreatic cancer at 62 on January 16, 2019.
Chris played harmonica, saxophone and guitar in the Sole Twisters, Harem Scarem and Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls and fronted Crown of Thorns who released six albums.
Sarah and Chris's sons - bassist George and drummer Fenn - joined Sarah on the lost highway at Ciggie Hill, Drysdale, near Geelong in her Haunted Hill video.
She recorded it at the Big Fridge Sounds studio in Wallington.
Guitarists Shannon Bourne and Leigh Ivin and harmonica player Jack Meredith fleshed out the Carroll-Wilson family instrumentation and vocals.
“I have written these songs to honour my husband, whose loss is unfathomable. I want to share some of my feelings, to illuminate the depths and try to answer a few of my own questions as well as those you may have,” Sarah revealed.
“Writing has helped me to begin healing and perhaps you will find something here to wrap your poor sad heart in too.”

DANNY PHEGAN FARM HOTEL

The 2022 Voice finalist Danny Phegan didn't have far to go when Duncan Toombs filmed his latest video in a country pub.
The Walla-Walla farmer performed in a bar that was built on his farm in 1884.
It was Danny's church of choice for sinners, horse hombres, pianist and his role as a priest.
Danny, now 45, was a Voice finalist in Keith Urban's team and topped charts with Half-Way Hotel that followed his 2017 album From Where I Stand.
“Some preach Heaven, some deserve Hell, all souls come together at The Halfway Hotel.”
Danny wrote the song about his bar at home - known as the Half-Star Hotel.
The single was inspired after a conversation with a mate he was drinking with.
“The bar was built in 1884 on our farm and I've turned it into my own bar and called it the Half Star Hotel. I thought about putting in a split system air conditioner and turning it into a full star, but I haven't. I had a mate come out to have a beer with me - he's quite religious and I'm not - and he said you should write a song about the bar because it doesn't matter who you are, what you believe in, everyone gathers here. It took me 15 minutes and it just fell out.”

HAYLEY JENSEN FROM ALBURY TO BEHIND BARS

Albury born singer-songwriter Hayley Jensen ended up Behind Bars after revenge on a cheating cad in her new video filmed by Jay Seeney.
Her character's moral of story - never set fire to BMWs in love trysts.
Hayley, 39, wrote Shake My Bones with two Canadians - Jordan Welbourne and Tallas Scott from rock group, W3APONS , on her 2019 overseas tour.
Shake My Bones is the sixth single on Hayley's third album Breaking Hearts.
‘The premise of the song is that we all do things we know we shouldn't in love and life,” Hayley revealed.
“Date the bad boy, eat the chocolate! Ha! We know we're making a poor choice, and we really should know better, but we do it anyway. We do it for the thrill of it, for the sheer pleasure, casting aside consequence and self-judgment, just for that moment.”
After arriving in her slick green Jaguar at beginning of previous video Karma , Hayley catches the betraying man red handed and lights his prized BMW on fire.
At the start of Shake My Bones Hayley gets back into her Jag, only to find herself led astray by a villain bad boy and caught up in another criminal act, only this time, karma's coming for her!

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 79, and son Shooter, 43.
