West Michigan band Wayland and Californian duo Smoky Mountains debut on the program filmed and edited by our multi-talented lockdown producer-host Laith Graham.
Blue Mountains singer-songwriter Blake Dantier and Kentuckian Alex Miller boomerang to the show this week.

DYLAN AND JIMMIE FIGHT FOR EQUALITY

Dylan Scott and Jimmie Allen open our show with equality in their joint video as they explore Biblical themes in the wild outdoors that echoes their lives.
Dylan, now 32, first visited Nashville when he was 15 with his dad who played guitar with country stars Freddy Fender and Freddie Hart.
His great aunt was producer Tony Brown's piano teacher, and another relative, Marie Jarvis, played piano with the Blackwood Brothers and the Stamps.
Scott hit the charts with six singles from five EPS and his debut album.
Dylan met his wife Blair Robinson at 15 in their hometown Bastrop and are the parents of two sons.
He played CMC Rocks Queensland festival in 2019 after appearing on Nu Country with videos for Nothing To Do Town and Hooked penned with expat Novocastrian Morgan Evans.
Jimmie, now 37, slept in his car on his arrival in Music city in the same car park as Georgian singer-songwriter Caylee Hammack.
He scored hits and released third album Tulip Drive in June on the eve of his Australian debut with Brad Paisley at CMC Rocks Queensland at Ipswich.
Allen and Paisley also appeared on our show with their #1 hit Freedom Was A Highway - Jimmie's third #1 hit and Paisley 's 21st.
Jimmie fronted Nu Country with videos for Down Home and Make Me Want To from his first album Mercury Lane that features songs about his grandmother, mother and father.
The Scott-Allen video for In Our Blood promotes Dylan's second album Living My Best Life.

BILLY DEAN AND PAUL OVERSTREET BOAT MATES

Floridian Billy Dean and Mississippi born hit writer Paul Overstreet echoed beach and boat dreams of Jimmy Buffett in their Nu Country return.
They hit the water and celebrated dreams of retirement in their joint composition on Dean's 12 th album title track The Rest Of Mine released on July 22.
Mississippi born dual Grammy winner Paul, 67, has written #1 hits for many peers and released 13 albums in his 40-year career.
This 10-track collection reflects Dean's love of his hometown Quincy , Florida , where he returned with his wife and two children after moving to Nashville 32 years ago.
“I was so touched and moved when Florida inducted me into its Artists Hall of Fame it made me terribly homesick,” Dean revealed.
“So I moved back to reconnect with my aging mother, my high school buddies and friends and family. That all inspired the tropical flavour of this album.”
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter wrote nine of ten songs with producer Brent Rader and Tom Woodard, Monty Powell, David Duncan and Floridians Hugh and Cody Vanlandingham.
The album includes a bonus track - a 30th anniversary re-recorded version of Dean hit Somewhere in My Broken Heart with full symphony orchestra.
Dean joins Shenandoah and Wade Hayes on their Country Comeback Tour.

WAYLAND HAVE A HOLY SHIFT

West Michigan band Wayland expand on our Biblical theme in their live Nu Country debut.
The quintet began as the Wayland Warriors and took their name from their hometown.
They began touring the world teaching children music with Bill and Robyn Brawley of Heart Global.
They hit rock charts with previous albums and singles before moving into country.
Holy Shift is the third single from their debut country album.

The Smoky Mountains duo continue our Biblical theme in Behind Bars by taking us down to the river for spiritual cleansing.
The Americana duo soaked their shame in redemption after suffering mortal sins.
Adam Lazio and singing spouse Frances Lawson formed Smoky Mountains in Los Angeles in 2019.
Their debut single video The Baptism , featuring pedal steel by Bob (Boo) Bernstein, and produced by Stefan Sigerson, is on Thorvald Records .

KENTUCKIAN ALEX MILLER BOOMERANGS

Young Kentuckian singing rancher Alex Miller boomerangs to our show with lost love lament Through With You.
Alex, 20, debuted on our show with Don't Let The Barn Door Hit Ya with farm visitor - Kentucky model and basketball TV and radio host Maria Montgomery.
Maria swapped high heels for high ideals in the video filmed at Alex's grandfather's farm home in Lancaster.
The American Idol finalist recently mourned the loss of grandfather, GB Miller, after he died on July 3 at the age of 75.
“Granddaddy was my best friend and he taught me so much,” Alex revealed.
“He's the reason I do what I do, but he also taught me how important it is to be a good person and what it means to be good to others. He also made sure I knew what working hard was really like. His passing has devastated me and my family.”
Alex's previous Don't Let The Barn Door Hit Ya video featured his grandfather, mother and father - Brandi and Roger - and new song Through With You on this week's show are on his debut album Miller Time out on April 29 on Billy Jam Records .
“Going into this I wanted to make an album that showcased all the different sides of me-swing, bluegrass, country and gospel,” Alex explained.
“ Miller Time gives me the chance to show folks all the music I love and enjoy. I always knew making music was what I wanted. To actually be doing it is really me living the dream.”

BLUE MOUNTAINS BARD BLAKE DANTIER

West Sydney born Blake Dantier shares his Blue Mountains home and recording studio with fellow singer and fiancé Cass Hopetoun.
But his latest video for Don't Say When is not about Cass - he raises a glass to the past and spiritual memories of his creator.
Blake performs against colourful kitchen and studio backdrops in his evocative video.
It follows Wish You Were My Beer and Ash And Dust from his debut album Dry Season that was released in March.

WIN WAYLON, GEORGE JONES AND MERLE HAGGARD

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling's favourite Texans.
The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 79, and son Shooter, 43.
