Virginian raised dual Grammy winners Old Crow Medicine Show headline N u Country TV Wednesday November 9 at 8 pm with their homage to Gloryland.
North Dakota born fiddler Brennan Leigh is joined by western swing king Ray Benson in Texas on the show repeated Saturdays at 11.30 pm.
Bluegrass ace Molly Tuttle and South Carolina belle Nikki Lane return to the program filmed and edited by our multi-talented lockdown producer-host Laith Graham.
Cincinnati outlaw Arlo McKinley and Brisbane Celt combo Asleep At The Reel also appear this week.
Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.

Popular Australian tourists Old Crow Medicine Show are live and inspired on their Nu Country return.
The Virginians had a plea for a much higher being - old St Peter - when they knocked on heaven's door in their Gloryland video from 13TH album Paint This Town released on April 22.
The sextet produced it with Matt Ross-Spang at their Hartland Studio and performed the title track on Nu Country on February 26.
"At the end of the day, we're still just trying to stop you on the street and get you to put a dollar in the guitar case," bassist Morgan Jahnig explained.
"Then once we've got your attention, we're gonna tell you about things like the opioid epidemic and the Confederate flag and what's happening with the environment, but we're gonna do it with a song and dance. We feel a great obligation to talk about the more difficult things happening out there in the world, but we also feel obligated to make sure everyone's having a great time while we do it."
Paint This Town follows eight studio albums and three live discs.
They fronted Nu Country with two videos depicting pandemic pain, survival on prayers and iso music on a trip that exposed poverty, racism, suffering families and children in their Pray For America video.
They exposed the disease's debilitating impact as they coughed despite masking up in their live Quarantine d video.
Old Crow debuted in Australia at 2009 CMC Rocks The Snowys Festival and Forum in Melbourne in 2009 before returning in 2017.

BRENNAN LEIGH IN TEXAS WITH A BAND

North Dakota born fiddler Brennan Leigh finds her wheel in Texas - Asleep At The Wheel band leader Ray Benson.
Brennen, now 37, left Dakota in 1999 for Austin where Ray hangs his hat and filmed her video at Coupland dance hall.
Leigh wrote 30 western swing songs last year and penned In Texas With A Band with Josh Owen.
It's on her seventh album Obsessed With The West, released in May and follows Prairie Love Letter.
Brennan also fronted Nu Country with her North Dakota Cowboy and Don't You Know I'm From Here videos.
She wrote all songs on her Prairie Love Letter concept album produced by Robbie Fulks.
“This is a collection of songs about my childhood home: the line between Western Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota ,” Leigh revealed.
“I've lived away for eighteen years and been homesick every one of them.”
“Like the character in the Twilight Zone episode that's able to time travel back to his childhood, I've learned that expectation only leads to disappointment and a feeling of loss. Don't You Know I'm From Here is my version of The Rank Stranger.”
She released 2009 solo album The Box and Before The World Was Made with singer-songwriter Noel McKay in 2013.
She cut a Lefty Frizzell tribute disc after her songs were recorded by Grammy winning Texan Lee Ann Womack.
The mandolinist was twice voted Texas Music Awards Best Female Vocalist and fronted bluegrass band High Plains Jamboree with writing-touring partner-guitarist McKay, bassist Simon Flory, and fiddler Beth Chrisman.
Leigh wrote songs with Sunny Sweeney including But You Like Country Music and Staying's Worse Than Leaving for Sweeney's second album Concrete in 2011.
She lives in Nashville where she plays Lower Broadway at Layla's, Robert's Western World and historic Station Inn.

MOLLY TUTTLE SAN FRANCISCO BLUES

Californian Molly Tuttle appears in Behind Bars with her Golden Highway band live at the famed Station Inn, Nashville .
Tuttle and Golden Highway perform San Francisco Blues from her fourth solo album Crooked Tree.
Molly played guitar in her dad Jack's band when she was just eight and released an album with him when she was 13.
Molly, now 29, formed her Tuttles band in San Francisco before moving to Nashville.
She previously fronted Nu Country with Old Crow Medicine Show for her video of Neil Young classic Helpless.
Helpless was on her second album But I'd Rather Be With You.
She debuted on Nu Country with Good Enough from seven track EP Rise and Take The Journey from When You're Ready on Compass Records after her 2017 Americana awards for best guitarist and instrumentalist.

NIKKI LANE HIGH CLASS HILLBILLY

South Carolina born highway queen Nikki Lane developed an Australian fan base when she toured here in 2014 with her band The Delines.
Nikki, 39, now runs Gallatin clothing store High Class Hillbilly.
This time she was on the road again with no headlights when she performed First High from fourth album Denim And Diamonds, released on September 23.

ARLO MCKINLEY RUST BELT COUNTRY

Arlo McKinley performs rust belt country at famed Sam Phillips studios in Memphis.
But his anthemic To Die For video for fatalistic peers didn't need a band.
It's on his 11 track third album This Mess We're In, released on July 15, and inspired by the death of his mother, best friend and addiction of peers.
“The streets forever stained with our blood, in a town where dreams surely come to die,” Arlo sings.
“Every time the lights shine, yeah they'll be thinking of us.”
Arlo, now 42, was the last artist signed to the late John Prine's Oh Boy records.
He has earned comparisons to Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Nick Cave and Nick Drake.
Arlo and his band's summer tour included performing the national anthem before a Cincinnati Reds game.

ASLEEP AT THE REEL SHIP COMES IN

Brisbane Celt combo Asleep At The Reel debut on the show with a fitting finale.
We started our show with Asleep At The Wheel ace Ray Benson and Brennan Leigh.
Asleep At The Reel finished it by taking us to the races and showing how to make a humorous winner out of backing a loser.
When My Ship Comes In is on Asleep At The Reel's second album Time And Tide.
The quartet take its stylings from peat-smoked pubs of Ireland and Scotland , from the kitchen, hearth, veranda, dance hall and shearing shed all the way to the stage.
Their original music is powered by song writing of Mark Cryle who rose to prominence in the 1990s with Spot the Dog.

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 79, and son Shooter, 43.
