TRACE ADKINS HEADLINES NU COUNTRY TV
Singing actor Trace Adkins headlines Nu Country TV on Saturday April 2 at 9.30 pm.
Arkansas singing cowboy Joe Nichols and Melbourne band Darlinghurst return to the show repeated on Wednesday at 11.30 pm.
Nebraskan Shannon Labrie debuts on the program filmed and edited by our multi-talented lockdown producer-host Laith Graham.
Texan Ariel Hutchins and her rodeo riding son Weston and Jem Cassar-Daley - daughter of Troy and TV-radio host Laurel Edwards - appear with their maiden videos.

Louisiana born singing actor Trace Adkins proves a master of ruptured romance in his new video that follows his Empty Chair and Ain't That Kind Of Cowboy clips on Nu Country.
Four times wed Trace, 60 and dad of five daughters, is well qualified to perform Heartbreak Song - one of 25 on his 13 th album The Way I Want To Go.
"It's about heartbreak, but not the type you would assume," Adkins revealed.
“It's a unique take. It all ends well, though. I'm not sure if there is a message, but I hope everyone likes our approach to the video. Heartbreak Song is a song I've had in my back pocket for a few years. I'm excited that this is the first release from my album.”
Heartbreak Song was penned by Greg Crowe, Johnny Garcia and Adam Wood.
The video takes a much more dramatic interpretation.
At the start two women are in a small-town cafe, as one tearfully tells her friend, “It's been two days and I haven't seen Gary . I have to do something.”
She later exits the cafe, wiping away a tear as Adkins walks by.
The woman sets out to find Gary and enjoys sweet surprises as Adkins plays a key role in her journey in a clip with plenty of classic cars.
Trace's 25 song album features Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Pitbull, Melissa Etheridge, Keb Mo , Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder harmonica, on songs including Jesus Was A Hippie .
Adkins starred in 24 movies and telemovies including The Lincoln Lawyer, Hickock, Traded, Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story, An American Carol, Bennett's War and The Virginian.

JOE NICHOLS HOME RUN

Arkansas singing cowboy Joe Nichols master a baseball metaphor in his return to the show.
Joe, 45, and father of three daughters went into rehab after his truckie bassist dad died.
But Joe boomeranged with wife Heather in his Home Run video from 11th album Good Day For Living.
“It has a strong melody that sticks in your head, but it also has a great message for right now,” Nichols said of the song penned by Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson and Ross Copperman.
“Everyone is feeling a little crazy, a little lost.”
Joe has made three Australian tours including a 2001 Forum gig with Fawkner filly Jasmine Rae.
Nichols appeared on Nu Country with a humorous version of a song made famous by hip hop rapper Sir Mix A Lot.
Joe was judged by Sir Mix A Lot on his classic Baby Got Back from 10th album Never Gets Old.

ARIEL HUTCHINS RODEO MENTOR

West Texan singer-songwriter Ariel Hutchins proves a maternal mentor for her young son Weston, just eight, who is already riding the range
Weston is one of her three children and wants to be a rodeo rider.
Abilene born Ariel began singing in church and was given her first guitar when she was 11 in foster care.
Weston mounts his steed in her video for The Cowboy He Will Be.
"It's about my son who rodeos," Ariel explained.
Ariel has toured with Kevin Fowler, Stoney LaRue and William Clark Green, Eli Young Band, Aaron Watson, and Clay Walker.
She opened for Professional Bull Riding organization and Texas Rangers games singing the National Anthem and is an on-stage advocate for foster children.
At fourteen Ariel found a loving family with her custodial guardians Billy and Rebecca and moved to her new home in Cross Plains , Texas .
She often sang the National Anthem at high school sports events and performed acoustically in local venues.
Her first single Wine Won't Work and duet with Sundance Head on Showing Off were #1 on Texas radio.

JEM CASSAR-DALEY IN FOREST

Singer-songwriter Jem Cassar-Daley followed singer dad Troy , 53, and DJ mum and TV host Laurel Edwards into show business.
Jem, now 21, plays piano and guitar and writes songs and tours with Troy.
She mastered an old piano in the forest in her Letting Go video filmed at Mabel St Garden Toowoomba and Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast
Jem wrote and recorded Letting Go with Garret Kato in Ocean Shores , NSW.
Rare Squid Creative directed her video.
Jem released Letting Go and Changes as singles.

DARLINGHURST SPREAD LOVE AND JOY

Young Melbourne quartet Darlinghurst deliver a strong message from their couch in their Where We Go video.
Their message - enjoy freedom, joy and love with family and friends.
And their fans on dance floors under The Beatles gaze from a wall.
They spread Love and Joy at the seventh Out on the Weekend festival on the dock of the bay at Steamworks in Williamstown
Where We Go is one of seven singles on the self-titled debut album by the band members - Jason Resch, Pagan Newman, Cassie Leopold and Matt Darvidis.

SHANNON LABRIE SONG OF PRAISE

Nebraskan Shannon Labrie carries on a family tradition in her debut.
Shannon grew up on a farm near Lincoln where her dad taught her guitar before he died when she was just 13.
She turned grief into salvation and solace as she runs through a forest storm in her video of a song she wrote with Tia Sellers.
Raining Hallelujah is on her third album Building.

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas .
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 78, and son Shooter, 42.
