GORD BAMFORD JOINS WOLFES FOR DRINKALONG

Expatriate Gippsland gaucho Gord Bamford joins Van Diemen's Land band The Wolfe Brothers in their return.

The Traralgon escapee Gord teamed with the Wolfes and animated guests on his Drinkalong video.

Gord, 45, is a major star in Canada and the duet is on his 10th album out this year.

Bamford left his Traralgon home for Alberta with sister Twila and singer mum Marilyn when he was 5 after his parents separated.

“I have been looking forward to getting back to Oz since I left,” Gord revealed.

“The industry and the country music fans have treated me so well and I believe it's a hidden gem of a market for country music. It is a great atmosphere and I just feel blessed to be able to come to the place I was born, play my music and reconnect with my father and family.”

Bamford reunited with his Queensland-based father, Pastor Jock Bamford, after an 18 year estrangement.

Pastor Jock is respected for his Brisbane Loaves and Fishes Foundation .

Wolfe Brothers closed the show as they revisited their Fairy Glen family berry farm near Neika in the deep south of Tasmania in their video for their fifth album title track Kids On Cassette.

They recruited two young brothers to play the wolf cubs in their adolescence.

Wolfe Brothers also played at the Hobart Ashes test before rain came tumbling down in December.
