Virginian formed sextet Old Crow Medicine Show return with two vivid videos depicting pandemic pain.
The dual Grammy winners survived on prayers and iso music during quarantine and took viewers on a trip that exposed poverty, racism, suffering families and children in their Pray For America video.
They also exposed the disease's debilitating impact as they coughed despite masking up in their live Quarantined video.
The band performed their videos long before release of their ninth studio album Paint This Town on April 22 that follows eight studio albums and three live discs in their 23 year career.
They released a new title track video, directed by Travis Nicholson, that reaches back to show younger versions of the band members.
"This song is about growing up in a small town and having to make fun wherever you could find it," bandleader Ketch Secor revealed.
"Our band has always drawn its inspiration from those elemental American places, where water towers profess town names, where the Waffle House and the gas station are the only spots to gather; this is the scenery for folk music in the 21st century. And the John Henry's and Casey Jones of today are the youth who rise up out of these aged burgs undeterred, undefeated, and still kicking."
They co-produced the album with Matt Ross-Spang at their Hartland Studio.
"At the end of the day, we're still just trying to stop you on the street and get you to put a dollar in the guitar case," bassist Morgan Jahnig explained.
"Then once we've got your attention, we're gonna tell you about things like the opioid epidemic and the Confederate flag and what's happening with the environment, but we're gonna do it with a song and dance. We feel a great obligation to talk about the more difficult things happening out there in the world, but we also feel obligated to make sure everyone's having a great time while we do it."
They debuted in Australia at 2009 CMC Rocks The Snowys Festival and the Forum in Melbourne in 2009 before returning in 2017.

CATHERINE BRITT AND LEE KERNAGHAN COUNTRY FANS

Novocastrian Catherine Britt and Corryong born Lee Kernaghan boomerang to Behind Bars with a duet from Catherine's ninth album Home Truths.
Cancer survivor Catherine, now 37, and Lee, 57, entertained pre-pandemic concert crowds in their Country Fan video.
Catherine has released albums by peers including Natalie Henry, Colin Lillie and Lachlan Bryan on her indie Beverley Hillbilly Record label.
Kernaghan, a 37-time Golden Guitarist and four time ARIA Award winner, released his 20th album Backroad Nation in 2019.
In January he released The Very Best of Lee Kernaghan - Three Decades of Hits - 30th anniversary of his 1992 classic debut album, Outback Club.
He will launch the 60 song album at Tamworth TRECC on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
Lee and his singing spouse Bobby have two sons.
In 2004 Lee received the Order of Australia Medal and in 2008 was named Australian of the Year.

TROY CASSAR-DALEY THE LAST MILE HOME

Grafton raised singer-songwriter and TV host Troy Cassar-Daley reached back to 2007 for a mountain top video The Last Mile Home.
Troy, now 52, has five ARIA Awards and 37 Golden Guitars.
The singer-TV show presenter and Brisbane radio and TV show host spouse Laurel Edwards are parents of two children including singer-songwriter daughter Jem.
Surry Hills born Troy wrote all 14 songs on his 15th album The World Today.
Troy 's dad Tony, who suffered two strokes, and good mate Glen Hannah both suicided in his hiatus between albums.
Laurel 's father also died between albums.

SAM HAWKSLEY AND WENDY MATTHEWS

Expat Orange born singer-songwriter and producer Sam Hawksley is joined by former Canadian Wendy Matthews in their romantic romp resurrection on their return.
They recruited diverse lovers to illustrate their We All Need Love video.
Sam, now 52, lives and records in Nashville and Wendy, 61, has released 11 albums since moving here in 1985.
We All Need Love is on Sam's ninth album Birds that features only female vocalists.

They include Matthews, Brooke McClymont, Jonatha Brooke, Wendy Page, Nina Ferro, Danielle Deandrea, Felicity Urquhart, Alyssa Bonagura, Shanley Del , and Amber Rae Slade.
“I called this record Birds because what else would an Australian living in Nashville , who misses the Aussie vernacular, have called it?” Hawksley revealed.
“Making this album kept me artistically alive during the live music COVID coma.”
He recorded it between his Nashville studio, LA, Minneapolis , Franklin and Leichhardt, Coffs Harbour , Melbourne and Tumbi Umbi.

Next Queensland singer Jade Holland returns with altruistic anthem Fight For It.
The Mental Awareness Foundation ambassador Jade Holland delivered a powerful message and has toured to promote the cause.
She filmed Fight For It at the annual Walk for Awareness event in Brisbane where she led thousands of Queenslanders in the streets.
She wrote Fight For It with Sinead Burgess and Bryce Sainty.
It follows two albums for the Mareeba born singer who lives in Hervey Bay.
Jade, now 34, also raised money for Townsville flood victims with her music.

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 78, and son Shooter, 42.
