Waugh, now 50, revisited his Gippsland dairy farm roots before fleeing to the mean streets of Brunswick to the Retreat Hotel. A group of former students played the dancers and young woman who beat that retreat to the dance floor in the Dark video he directed with Sean Kirkwood. “The concept was about living out a night in reverse almost like you're piecing together a messy night,” Waugh revealed. “The highlight for me though was working with a group of ex-students who play the backing dancers and the young woman at the night club.” Dark is the third single from his fourth album The Cast , produced by Shane Nicholson, and released on August 27. “Ringers Nightclub in Sale was the place to go on a Saturday night when I was growing up in Gippsland,” Waugh revealed. “It was a place where FIFO workers from the oil rigs, young dairy farmers, local tradies and even the odd underage kid would meet up on a Friday night for a drink.” Sadly Weir's father John died of lung disease at 76 in January, 2020, and mum Eileen died at 69 in March, 2020. Waugh rides his bike from Scotch College in Hawthorn through the suburbs and city to keep fit and research song sources. CLICK HERE for Waugh's The Weir CD feature in The Diary on September 30, 2019. Chris, now aged 43 and singing spouse Morgane, who have five children including twins, were backed by a hot band and gospel choir in his video for the Brooks hit Shameless. Garth and his Georgian born songbird spouse Trisha Yearwood, 57, were in his all-star audience. Shameless was originally on Garth's third album Roping The Wind in 1991. Producer Dave Cobb guested on Chris videos for Shameless and Starting Over - title track of his fourth album that featured 11 Chris original songs and released on November 13. ERIN ENDERLIN LIVE IN FARMLAND Arkansas born singer-songwriter Erin Enderlin returned live and acoustic to Behind Bars from the Farmland studio in Nashville. Erin, now 39, hails from Conway, Arkansas, and sang how she would prefer to be somebody's shot of whiskey than their cup of tea. Somebody's Shot Of Whiskey is on her new six-song EP, Barroom Mirrors, released on October 15. It features duets with Rosanne Cash on Cut Through Me and Canadian Terri Clark on If There Weren't So Many Damn Songs and follows her third album Faulkner County and three EPS. She penned Somebody's Shot Of Whiskey with Ben Chapman after seeing the titular saying on a T-shirt. "I hope it inspires people to just be themselves and embrace it," Erin explained. “First of all, I love getting to do music videos. I grew up fascinated by them, and it's part of how I fell in love with country music. It felt so good to be working and creating.” It also features videos sent from fans. Erin previously appeared on Nu Country with her videos for Til It's Gone, I Don't Give A Damn, Broken, Whiskeytown Crier - Ain't It Just Like a Cowboy and World Without Willie with Tara Thompson. But Kyle, now 36, didn't want to rewind his marriage to his wife Brandi who was in his 2019 Texas Hill country wedding video Every-Day Kind of Love. Kyle wrote Rewind with Bernie Nelson and Ben McPeak in a 2020 session when Kyle mentioned "going back in time." Park used it to "right some of the wrongs I'd made. Words I should've said, places I should've gone, people, I hurt but didn't mean to. We've all been there, and this song represents a few of those moments in my life." Rewind is on Austin born Kyle's ninth album and follows Don't Forget Where You Come From . "There were several moments while filming Rewind and listening to the lyrics when I actually had goosebumps on set,” Kyle revealed. “This song is all about the lyrics, so we wanted the video to reflect that. It's an emotional song, and it's supposed to be an emotional video.” Park featured a horse-riding homage on previous video Rio with four-time World National Finals Rodeo champion and professional rodeo rider Tuf Cooper. Park wrote Rio with Erin Enderlin and depicted the adventurous freedom of the American cowboy. It depicted the bond between a horse and new owner as they travel across open country on a private ranch in Corona , New Mexico . Park also fronted Nu Country with Ain't Nobody Hotter with Ray Benson, Rednecks With Paychecks, Don't Forget Where You Come From, What Goes Around, Comes Around, Turn That Crown Upside Down, Long Distance Relationship and George Strait tribute Fit For the King. The Knoxville born ace chartered his fishing boat from Gloucester in Massachusetts and filmed in St. Croix. His friend Monica plays his love interest in aquatic video Knowing You on the deluxe version of his 21st album Here And Now. Kenny, now 53, is no stranger to love. On May 9, 2005, he married actress Renée Zellweger in a ceremony on the island of St. John. They met in January at a tsunami relief event and on September 15 after only four months of marriage they announced plans for an annulment. Here and Now also features Chesney's Top 10 single Tip of My Tongue . “I wrote two songs on this record,” Chesney admitted. “I wrote We Do and then I wrote Tip of My Tongue with Ed Sheeran. Now I wrote four or five more that just didn't end up making the record, because maybe it had too many ballads or it just didn't fit or whatever. I like the record to have a flow, to have a certain energy. But it's different. The last record I put out - Songs for the Saints, 2018 was the hurricane relief record for Irma, which I wrote basically every song on. But that was a different kind of album. For this one, I was writing a lot, but the best song kind of always wins and sometimes I write the best song and sometimes I don't.” CLICK HERE for a Kenny Chesney feature in The Diary on August 20, 2018.
