WADE BOWEN AND RANDY ROGERS FIND RODEO CLOWN Texans Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers lose their lover to a rodeo clown in their latest video. Darrel in a barrel - a humorous high-wire wrangler - joins them in their vaudeville romp. “We had a blast shooting it,” Rogers , 40, revealed of the video. “But the things I remember most from that day are the spiders that were in that barrel I was rolled around in all afternoon. I think it's a great take on a really funny song and it's the perfect complement to the track itself, because the video is hilarious in its own right. Lord knows we all need a good laugh right about now. And that's what this new project Hold My Beer, Vol. 2 is all about - just two friends having fun.” Bowen was equally effusive about the video. “I love music videos because when done right, they make you enjoy certain songs even more than you already did,” Bowen, 43, explained. “The first time I saw this video, I immediately felt like it fell into that category. Rodeo Clown is already a funny song as is, but the video makes it that much better. Chris DuBois and David Lee wrote the song for the video directed by Tim Duggan. The new album features Ode To Ben Dorcy (Lovey's Song ) about the King of the Roadies. The song was written by the late Waylon Jennings about Dorcy who died at 92 on September 16, 2017. He was the first person inducted into the Roadies Hall of Fame in Nashville in 2009. From 1960-1963 he was a delivery driver for Nudie Cohn and later roadie for Hank Thompson, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Kirsty's sardonic psalm is based on folk tales from near Kurri Kurri in the eighties. The clip revolves around a family wedding where Akers plays the bridesmaid. “My mother tries setting me up with the nerdy groomsman and I end up stealing the wedding car and taking off,” Akers revealed. “I had so much fun bringing this song to life! I've always loved everything about the 80's and have always wanted to do a music video with that theme, incorporating the big hair, big makeup and bright colours. The whole day filming was good fun – it really felt like we were at an 80's themed wedding!” The song is a vast contrast to her reality romances - Kirsty, 31, wed her video director Jesse Anderson. “I wrote this with Trey Bruce and it all started from a line I had written in my phone, 'Shelly's twenty six, about to pop with her third kid',” Akers explained. “One day I was scrolling through Facebook and seeing all the people I went to school with posting about their kids/families etc and I was thinking to myself, at age 29, how the conventional “get married, have kids, work a 9-5 job” life just wasn't something I could ever imagine for my life obviously there is nothing wrong with that, but it just isn't for me.” That Ring Don't Fit My Hand is on her fifth album Under My Skin. TRACY LAWRENCE WILD WEST HOMAGE Texan Tracey Lawrence has some words of wisdom in his return - our world will woe the departure of wild west heroes. Tracy , 52, praises his inspirations that have illustrated his long career. “I'm really proud of this song. It has such a powerful message," Lawrence revealed of When The Cowboy's Gone from his 18 th album Made In America. "We all know the strength and character the cowboy represents. When we lose that character in society, our country is lost. I think this song is a perfect message for the time and place we're in right now.” “I am extremely proud of my new album. It is possibly the most personal album I have ever released. I co-wrote eight out of the 12 songs, pouring my heart and soul into each of the songs. I feel it will resonate with my fans and country music lovers across this nation.” Lawrence and songwriter Flip Anderson wrote lyrics and music for Storming Heaven: The Musical - based on Denise Giardina's award-winning novel about labor strife in the coalfields of southern West Virginia during 1920-21. Lawrence appeared in the movie L.A. Dirt filmed around Mobile , Alabama , and plays Uncle Charlie to nephew, Ty Hargrove, portrayed by Michael Roark.
