BIG & RICH STAY HOME IN NASHVILLE

When Big & Rich made their second tour here in 2015 with Tennessean Chris Young and Cowboy Troy they performed to large crowds in Queensland and the Billboard Club in Russell Street in Melbourne CBD.

But now, with the COVID-19 pandemic, they return in a vivid video filmed by the guitar shaped swimming pool at the home of John Rich.

They stocked up on liquid refreshment and enlisted a colourful cast for their vivid video Stay Home that also praised the work of health care workers.

Stay Home follows six albums for the band formed in 1998 after Rich, former Lone Star singer and Texan Pentecostal preacher's son, and Big Kenny Alphin made their names as songwriters.

Singing actor, Rhodes Scholar and former Army pilot Kris Kristofferson had a cameo in a previous video of evocative Vietnam War song 8th Of November.

It was inspired by a Vietnam veteran Big Kenny met in a Deadwood, South Dakota bar.

Niles Harris, one of just four of the 173rd Airborne Brigade to survive a 1965 ambush by more than 1,200 Viet Cong, also gave Kenny his hat.

Big & Rich also appeared on Nu Country with California from their sixth album Did It For The Party.

Singing actor Tim McGraw played a bartender in another Big & Rich video for Loving Lately - written by Big Kenny, Rich and Tim who has toured here twice - for their fifth album Gravity .

MIRANDA LAMBERT FLIES WITH BLUEBIRD

Texan born singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert returns to Nu Country just three months after being forced to cancel her debut Australian tour in March.

This time she arms herself with a bluebird in her heart and wildcard up her sleeve in her chirpy Bluebird video from her seventh album Wildcard.

Miranda, now 35, planned to bring second spouse - New York City cop Brendan McLoughlin - with her.

Instead Miranda and Brendan are in iso cages in Tennessee.

Miranda wed Brendan on January 26, 2019 in Davidson County, Tennessee

But Miranda, former singing spouse of Oklahoma singing actor Blake Shelton, has heart tattoos of Brendan on her right arm.

Miranda appeared on Nu Country with her video about Flores from Juarez - south of El Paso - in her humorous tune Tequila Does.

Miranda wrote the song with fellow Texans Jon Randall and Jack Ingram.

Miranda's concert with Brothers Osborne at Rod Laver Arena and the 13th CMC Rocks Queensland festival in Ipswich were cancelled.

KIP MOORE IN THE WILD

Georgian singer-songwriter Kip Moore finished up in the wild after his March tour with Jimmie Allen bit the corona dust.

So, in absentia, he fronted a choir in a valley beyond the ocean in his new video In The Wild.

Moore also filmed in the Mojave Desert in California.

In The Wild is one of 13 original songs he wrote for his self-produced fourth album Wild World , out last week.

“I know it's an unsettling time for a lot of people right now, and so my hope is that this music can bring even just one person some peace,” Moore, now 40, revealed.

“I try to make music that reaches people in a pure sense – something that's light and easy to carry with you, but 1000 pounds of weight at the same time, and I think Wild World is just a depiction of what I see. Life is one crazy, wild ride. But it can be so simple if we look for the right things, and I think that is more important than ever right now.”

Kip played the 2018 CMC Rocks Queensland festival and Melbourne Forum with Lee Brice and Charlie Worsham.

Moore, one of six children, debuted here at the Snowy Mountains country festival at Thredbo and CMC Rocks Queensland in 2016.

He also produced a 33 minute documentary The Journey To Slowheart .

In his documentary Kip gave a personal tour of places that impacted his life and songs.

KENNY CHESNEY HERE AND NOW

Knoxville born ace Kenny Chesney celebrates his 21st album with a live video for the title track Here & Now.

It became his 16th top 10 album.

Chesney, now 52, is grateful for lessons learned during the coronavirus pandemic.

His collaboration with David Lee Murphy on the title track reflects that - an up-tempo rocker that he admits is a contradiction.

"Why you think we call the present the present/because there ain't no better gift than here and now," he sings in the second verse.

"I'm constantly moving," Chesney sings, "I crave living in the here and now and I know it's important."

Here and Now also features Chesney's Top 10 single Tip of My Tongue.

“I wrote two songs on this record,” Chesney admitted.

“I wrote We Do and then I wrote Tip of My Tongue with Ed Sheeran. Now I wrote four or five more that just didn't end up making the record, because maybe it had too many ballads or it just didn't fit or whatever. I like the record to have a flow, to have a certain energy. But it's different. The last record I put out - Songs for the Saints, 2018 was the hurricane relief record for Irma, which I wrote basically every song on. But that was a different kind of album. For this one, I was writing a lot, but the best song kind of always wins and sometimes I write the best song and sometimes I don't.”

ADAM HARVEY HITS HIGHWAY 1

Former Geelong truckie Adam Harvey praises the highway that leads to his hometown in his latest video.

The moral of Harvey 's story is simple.

Keep on trucking and don't look back - especially at the historic Corio Bay roadhouse.

Highway Number One is the first single on Adam's self-produced 16th album.

It followed recent videos for I'd Rather Be A Highwayman and When Willie's Gone.

Harvey travels north to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery in the video directed by Duncan Toombs and south to Geelong .

“The whole experience felt more like a boys getaway,” Adam, now 45, confessed.

“To be honest I have never had so much fun recording a video clip. I've toured right around the country, across it, up and down it, every which way you could possibly go and I've been lucky enough to do that for over 20 years,

“There is a feeling of freedom when you're constantly on the move, it's really amazing and very addictive. I thought if I write a song about it, it might connect with people on the roads, it might also encourage people to take the leap, buy the caravan and explore this amazing country as you travel along Highway Number One”.

The eight-time Golden Guitar winner now lives on the NSW Central Coast in what he calls the People's Republic of Batteau Bay.

JASMINE RAE GREEN LIGHT

Fawkner born Jasmine Rae ventures onto the mean streets of Sydney in her latest video.

That's where she found a green light after being shirt-fronted by some macho males.

Green Light is on the 32-year old's fifth album Lion Side, out on July 24.

“There are always opportunities, the opportunity to take action, or to purposefully let something go; to make a call or leave things unsaid; to change or try again or try differently,” Jasmine revealed about Green Light.

“No decision is a decision in itself. This song is the inner dialogue of one of those days. These are some of the circling thoughts of doubt and indecision that drive me crazy.”

Jasmine recorded her album in Sydney and Nashville with producer Lindsey Jackson

“I took a long time to make this album, but ultimately I simply had to do it,” she added.

“Music has always been my way of thinking out loud and figuring things out. Writing and performing allows me to express those feelings to be dramatic, be loud or be fragile, be emotional and be real.”
