Expat South Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist Jedd Hughes headlines Nu Country TV on Saturday January 18 at 9.30 pm on Channel 31/ Digital 44.
Canadian born New Zealand Tami Neilson returns to the show, repeated Monday at 7.30 am.
Kentucky coal mine escapee Chris Knight returns Behind Bars with a double shot on the program filmed and edited by Laith Graham.
Ferny Creek singer-songwriter Brendan McMahon and Wauchope producer singer-songwriter Angus Gill also boomerang.

QUORN BORN JEDD WITH ANIMAL EYES

Quorn born singer-songwriter and in demand guitarist Jedd Hughes returns to our show on the eve of a planned homeland tour.
Hughes, now 37 and a major Nashville act, left Australia more than decade ago and studied at South Plains music college in Levelland, West Texas .
He was mentored by Terry McBride before joining bands of Kentucky coal miner's daughter Patty Loveless, Texan Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris and Eric Church.
His Animal Eyes video was directed by Jeremy Dylan - son of our late TV show benefactor Rob Potts.
Jeremy also manages Jim Lauderdale and Imogen Clark
Animal Eyes is on Jedd's second self-produced solo album West he is promoting on a tour with Vince Gill.
Hughes wrote four songs solo, Thinking About You and Tweakertown with Crowell, Killer with Parker Milsap, Sleepless with Adam Wright, God Washed Up with Sarah Buxton and Hollywood with late Texan Guy Clark.
Jedd released 2004 disc Transcontinental with chart singles High Lonesome and Soldier for the Lonely.
Hughes has also written songs for fellow expats The Greencards , Tim McGraw, Josh Gracin and diverse Australian artists.
He also appeared on Nu Country with Sarah Buxton in their videos Stupid Boy and Big Blue Sky and his hit High Lonesome .

TAMI NEILS0N VALENTINE'S DAY LAUNCH

Canadian born, latter day New Zealand singer-songwriter Tami Neilson proves why she was a huge hit at the sixth Out On The Weekend festival at Williamstown in October.
Tami, 42 and mother of two sons, recruited brother Jay to guest on her Any Fool With A Heart video on her seventh album Chickaboom.
The album is released on Valentines' Day with ample protection for the singer who left Canada and moved to New Zealand in 2007.
Tami's husband is a police inspector so he out-ranks police spouses of Texans Miranda Lambert and Sunny Sweeney.
Tami extended the roots of her family gospel quintet in her video for Holy Moses from fifth album Don't Be Afraid that featured in Behind Bars on February 11, 2017.
Tami and fellow Kiwi Marlon Williams also performed a song started by her late father on Nu Country on November 28, 2015.
Her dad Ron began writing Lonely in 1972 and recorded the demo outside a hotel room in Canada.
It remained a demo until Tami and her brother Jay discovered it a week after his death.
Tami performed from the age of 12 in her family band The Neilsons - she had two top 40 singles on Canadian music charts with her family.
She has since won eight Awards for Best Country Album, single and Female Country Artist in New Zealand .

CHRIS KNIGHT - THE DAMN TRUTH

Kentucky coal-mining escapee returns to Behind Bars with a double shot from his ninth album The Damn Truth. Knight, 59, is the son of David - a pipeline foreman for Texas Gas Transmission Corporation. His mum Brenda worked in a shirt factory in Madisonville , carburettor company in Bowling Green and bakery in Possum Trot. So Chris quit as a strip mine inspector for music. It was similar path to fellow coal miner's daughters and sons Loretta Lynn, Patty Loveless and Chris Stapleton. |
Knight resurrected Framed from his 1998 self-titled debut disc when he appeared on Nu Country on March 28, 2015,
The song was also cut by Hunter Valley singer Mitchell Shadlow on his album One Of These Days.
Knight also appeared with In The Meantime on February 19, 2015.
Knight's graphic story songs have been hits for peers diverse as John Anderson, Lee Ann Womack, Gary Allan and Randy Travis.
He has written with Texan born troubadour Lee Ann Womack whose second husband Frank Liddell discovered Knight in the nineties.
Their collaboration You Lie When You Call My Name appears on his eighth album Little Victories.
Womack recorded several Knight songs on her eighth album The Way I'm Living including Send It On Down - the second single by Knight and David Leone.

BRENDAN MCMAHON IN THE MOMENT

Ferny Creek singer-songwriter Brendan McMahon returns to Nu Country with his second video I Am from his fourth album In The Moment.
Brendan grew up at Kapunda near famed Barossa Valley and wrote his song and video about childhood wanderlust.
His dad judged cattle, sheep and swine - not wine - in his job as stock and station agent.
Brendan, now 56, followed music east to our Rowville - not Nashville.
It was where he wrote songs about a steer named Morris and an echidna who remains nameless.

ANGUS GILL SONG OF ORIGIN

Wauchope singer-songwriter and producer Angus Gill reached back to childhood for the source of his Origins video.
Jay Seeney filmed it at Appin in Gill's home state.
“The old footage is from me performing as a child,” Gill revealed.
“One of my favourite memories, which was included in the clip, was when I met Adam Harvey at my local radio station and he invited me to sing with him on his show.”
Origins was written by Angus and Lance Carpenter and blends the album theme of family and home.
“I was thinking back to my childhood memories and the house that I grew up in, the abundance of photo albums showing me learning to play guitar, the mini concerts I held in the backyard, tearing up Dad's lawn on the PW50, getting my hands dirty building our herb garden and repairing the chicken pen when the foxes got too close,” Gill explained.
“That's the genesis, the foundation, the fabric of my existence, it's where I come from, it's my Origins.”
It's on his 14 track second album Welcome To My Heart that follows his debut disc Nomad .
Welcome To My Heart includes a duet with James Blundell on Doesn't Mean I Don't Believe and co-write with Graeme Connors on Don't Care How Long It Takes.
Gill, 21, also produced Nowra nurse Emma Jene's third album Erosion at his piping Hot Plate Studio in Wauchope , and tours with her.
He also had support gigs on a spring tour by veteran Texan singing actor Kris Kristofferson.
