Rodney, now aged 67, perfected dance steps in a conga line in his home state. Crowell's crew visited New Braunfels - home of the famed Gruene Hall built in 1878. He was joined on Flatland Hillbillies song and video by Texans Randy Rogers and Lee Ann Womack. It's on his 19th album Texas, co-produced with Ray Kennedy, that focuses on Lone Star culture and regional music that formed Crowell's musical sensibility as a teenager in Houston. Crowell wrote Flatland Hillbillies with author Mary Karr. The video illustrates Crowell's Cajun-creole country rock sound as he walks around West San Antonio Street in New Braunfels, dancing and smiling as he goes about his way before being joined by a group of a fans. Other guests on Texas include Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Billy Gibbons, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Ringo Starr and Steve Earle. Crowell was inducted into Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Carthage, Texas, in August and recipient of ACM Poet's Award at the 2019 ACM Honors in Nashville. The ex-husband of Rosanne Cash last toured here in 2015 with Emmylou Harris. CLICK HERE for that concert review on June 25, 2015. CLICK HERE for a CD review in The Diary on June 1, 2014. FORMER MARINE GETHEN JENKINS BACK BEHIND BARS West Virginian marine and Iraq tour of duty survivor Gethen Jenkins swapped tanks for bikes in his return. As a teen he played guitar in the Indian village Galena on the Yukon deep in the Alaskan tundra. He spent eight years in the Marines and is well qualified to perform new song Basket Case from his second album Western Gold that was released in July. Jenkins debuted on Nu Country on October 7, 2017, with a road song using a van as transport in Where The Honky Tonk Belongs. Gethen formed the Freight Shakers quintet whose music embraced bluegrass, whiskey soaked honky-tonk and roots country. He has played over 1,000 live shows with artists diverse as Billy Joe Shaver, David Allan Coe, Shooter Jennings, Wanda Jackson, Dale Watson, Junior Brown, Whitey Morgan, Asleep At The Wheel and Marshall Tucker Band. “The relationship between the listeners and music is what I feed on,” Jenkins revealed. "I couldn't be more excited about sharing this album with the world. These songs reflect some of my life experiences, both good and bad. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to get this album into the hands of people that love country music as much as I do. After all, that's truly where the honky-tonk belongs.” Further info - http://www.gethenjenkinsmusic.com/ JASMINE RAE HAS PARTY ON THE COUCH Fawkner born belle Jasmine Rae has a party on her couch with gal pals Rachael Fahim and Missy Lancaster in her new video. Jasmine, now 32, wrote Party on The Couch with Anna Vaus and Jason Gant for her fifth album produced in Nashville by Lindsey Jackson. “This was the last song we wrote for the new album and was the one that felt the easiest and quickest,” Jasmine revealed. “I was in the mood to celebrate the end of writing a whole album. But I'm a home body at heart and how I truly like to celebrate most of the time is with some couch time," says Jasmine Party On The Couch is Jasmine's first video in nearly three years. “I was so lucky to have two gorgeous, fun and talented friends on set,” Jasmine added. “A couch party is brought to a new level when you add in some good mates. Missy and Rachael made the whole day super funny and relaxed. They brought the good vibes and some goose bumpy ghost stories that almost had me convinced oh and delicious wine that we disguised as hot chocolate.” CLICK HERE for a Jasmine CD feature in The Diary on August 31, 2015. TORI FORSYTH LESSONS IN LOVE Hunter Valley vamp Tori Forsyth gives a partner an ultimatum in her latest live video with her band. She described how she dealt with a partner's addiction in Be Here. Her message to her beau was simple - give it up or lose her. Be Here is the fifth single on 24-year-old Tori's debut album Dawn Of The Dark. “Recording this song was one of the smoothest recording sessions I've ever done,” Tori revealed. “We went in and left five hours later with the song near finished. We knew before we went where it was going and the influences behind it. It came together so easily. I've never been so inspired coming away from the studio. “ The minimalist video was directed by Brad Murnane, split between white and red rooms with moments of performance from Tori and her band. It includes props of a snake and stairs, symbolizing change and new direction for the Kurri Kurri artist. “The idea behind the film clip was to suggest a story rather than tell one,” Tori said. “I wanted it to be manic, lots of light and shade and I wanted symbolism through two colours. Brad, as always sprinkled his brilliant mind on it. I'm really excited about it.” Further info - http://www.toriforsythmusic.com/ HOW TO KEEP NU COUNTRY ON AIR We need your support in Nu Country TV's 41st series with Australian record companies and artists teaming to ensure our survival.
