Kentuckians Tyler Childers and Marty Brown headline Nu C ountry TV on Saturday July 13 at 9.30 pm on Channel 31/44.
Tyler 's fellow March tourist Devin Dawson also returns to Behind Bars on the show repeated Monday 7.30 am and Wednesday 9 pm.
Former Sunraysia singer-songwriter Sara Storer appears on the program filmed and edited by Laith Graham.
Melbourne singer Michelle Gardiner debuts on the show featuring Yarraville singer-signwriter David Baird and Williamstown lawyer Patsy Toop as the Long & Short Of It .
Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.

TYLER CHILDERS SNIPE HUNT

Tyler Childers had no time for hunting and gathering on his March tour here with former Chicago postie John Prine.
Their closest encounter was seagulls outside St Kilda Palais on March 7.
But Tyler, 27 joked about wildlife during his on-stage patter as he previewed his song Snipe Hunt .
Childers is joined this week by his singing spouse Senora May on their live version of the song from his second album Purgatory.
Tyler recently released a new video for House Fire - first single on his third album Country Squire out on August 2 on his RCA imprint Hickman Holler Records.
Sturgill Simpson produced the CD at the Butcher Shoppe in Nashville with local musicians Stuart Duncan, Miles Miller, and Russ Pahl.

MARTY BROWN BACK IN TOWN

Kentucky roots country singer Marty Brown returns after a 23-year recording hiatus as he celebrates his 54th birthday this month.
Brown exploits dual use of umbrellas on beaches and drinks for femme fatales as he conjures a portrait of a couple in love in his Umbrella Lovers video.
It's the first single on his fifth album American Highway on Plowboy Records.
Brown is a prolific songwriter - his images of Oklahoma oil and Kansas wheat fields fill When I Stop Loving You (recorded by Trace Adkins) while portraits of sawed-off shotguns and coonskin caps featured in Tracy Byrd hit I'm From The Country.
“That song built my house,” Brown revealed recently.
“That's my bread and butter.”
Brown had an MCA label deal in the nineties but after it expired he shifted focus to song-writing by living in Franklin , Kentucky and driving into Nashville for writing sessions.
“I would come home and play my wife demo tapes and I'd say, ‘Blake would sound good singing that song,' and she would say, ‘Well, you sound good singing that!'”
Brown's wife Shellie drove him to a Nashville audition for America's Got Talent .
In 2013 his rendition of Bob Dylan's Make You Feel My Love earned more than 11 million views on YouTube and reached Top 10 on America's Got Talent .
It helped land him his Plowboy deal - he wrote and produced the album with Jon Tiven.

DEVIN DAWSON FOUND FRIENDS DOWN UNDER

Californian born singer-songwriter Devin Dawson - also a March tourist - returns with a song he performed at the Athenaeum Theatre.
Dawson searched bars for a belle to share his drinks in his video Asking For A Friend.
That was before he met his fiancée Leah - a fellow Belmont College student - in Nashville.
Devin toured here for Country Music America with acclaimed Washington State mining town born singer-songwriter Brandy Clark and Canadian chanteuses Lindsay Ell and Tenille Townes.
Asking For A Friend is on Devin's debut disc Dark Horse.

SARA STORER RAIN DANCE

Prolific Golden Guitarist Sara Storer returns with a seasonal song of optimism.
Sara left her family's drought ridden Sunraysia farm home at Wemen near Robinvale many decades ago.
But not her brother Greg - her frequent song-writing partner
Their latest video, filmed in drought-stricken NSW town Henty, was inspired by an outback family's rain dance on a dry riverbed.
The Henty community rallied to support the video with local businesses, school children, families and fire brigade depicting a modern-day community rain dance.
Appropriately, on the day of the video release, Henty received rain.
“ Raindance is a song of hope,” Sara, 44 and mother of four sons, revealed.
“It also sends a message of coming together through dance and song. Music is great therapy and while our nation waits on rain let's dance and sing this drought away.”
Rain Dance is also title track of the seventh album by Sara who has won 21 Golden Guitars.

MICHELLE GARDINER MEMORIES

Melbourne singer-songwriter Michelle Gardiner had good reason for being showered with kisses by famed former Essendon footy coach Kevin Sheedy.
The mother of two played the 2017 and 2018 Essendon-Geelong country game entrées in Yarra Park.
Sheedy - the country footy and produce festival spruiker - was so impressed by Michelle and her mum he kissed them both but not her guitarist Steve O'Hern or drummer Nathan Brincau.
The 2018 headliners were Lee Kernaghan, Darren Coggan and Sara Storer.
Maybe Sheedy's kisses helped inspire her latest single Sing Me A Memory that she performs this week.
Michael Zammit produced it at Airwaves Recording Studio in Altona Meadows .
“Sing Me A Memory was a line that came into my mind one day whilst listening to a song and realising it was taking me back to a moment in my life and bringing about feelings and emotions that would otherwise have been forgotten if not for the musical soundtrack surrounding it,” Michelle revealed.
“I love how music can do that. It's funny how a song can take you back to a moment in time. Somewhere you treasured but may have forgotten or misplaced. This catchy, heartfelt, feel good song will have you reminiscing about times gone by and tapping your foot along the way.”

Williamston warriors The Long & Short of It return with a celebration of cowboy truck drivers lives and loves. They perform their video for the Hugh Prestwood penned song Latter Day Cowboy in Charters Towers, North Queensland. It was filmed at two locations - the Charters Towers Sale Yards and Leahton Park Texas Longhorn Stud with Richard and Sharon from Immersion Video at the helm. Yarraville singer-signwriter Dave Baird and Williamston lawyer Patsy Toop - mother of four - joined forces after meeting a decade ago at a music charity function. They blazed a creative trail for indie artists with imaginative video clips from diverse locales here and overseas. They filmed Carry Me near Echuca on Murray River paddle steamers Adelaide and Emmylou. Woody's Fireyard at Baxter and Dromana Drive-In and John Brown's Kickin Country dance hall at Barongarook were video locales for Old School. |
They filmed Gypsy White Moon in Williamstown Botanical Gardens , Warburton and Sherbrooke Forest near the Puffing Billy.
Jesus Money also had local backdrops.
“We filmed in the Williamstown Botanical Gardens. We were trying to give the impression of LA that's why scenes with tall palm trees,” Patsy revealed at the time.
“The buildings back drops were in St. Kilda, a studio in the city and Paris Cat Jazz Club .”
They filmed 50 Bucks And A Case of Beer on Broadway - in Nashville - not New York .
The duo performed Kangaroo Rodeo with vast cast of locals at the Walkabout Creek hotel at remote McKinlay in far north-west Queensland
