WYNONNA & HER BIG NOISE HEADLINE NU COUNTRY TV
Singing actress Wynonna Judd and her band The Big Noise headline Nu Country TV on Saturday July 29 at 9 pm on Channel 31/Digital 44.
Connecticut chanteuse A J Jansen debuts on the program, hosted by Mid Pacific Bob Olson and repeated Sunday 1 am and Monday 8 am, with her sequel to a Hank Williams Jr hit.
Oklahoma doctor James Robert Webb also makes his debut Behind Bars on the show, filmed and edited by Laith Graham.
Seattle quintet Western Centuries retreat to its rural roots and Robinvale raised former orchardist Paul Costa - one of four singing siblings - also goes off grid in his new video.
Late Georgian country comedian and author Tim Wilson also returns to Behind Bars with more humour.

WYNONNA RESURRECTION IN A FOREST

Wynonna Judd takes us on a magical mystical musical tour of a forest as she enjoys her resurrection and refinement.
The Kentucky born belle, now 53, fled to the forest, nearby mansion and studio with her band The Big Noise that includes her third husband Cactus Moser of Highway 101 fame.
Cactus is Big Noise's drummer and also produces her albums.
That's despite losing a leg on Route 16 in the Black Hills of South Dakota when his Harley crossed the centre line and hit a car in 2012.
Derek Trucks of Allman Brothers fame, who has toured here with his singing spouse Susan Tedeschi, also guests on the video for aptly titled Keeps Me Alive from her eighth solo album.
Wynonna and mother Naomi topped charts as The Judds on more than a dozen albums in a 27 year career from 1983 while her sister Ashley found fame as a Hollywood actress.

JANSEN PROVES A COUNTRY GIRL CAN SURVIVE

Connecticut chanteuse A. J. Jansen debuts on Nu Country with a role reversal sequel to the Hank Williams Jr hit A Country Boy Can Survive . Jansen's anthemic A Country Girl Can Survive is title track of her fourth album. The singer, sired by a proud Polish family, is also a survivor in a volatile genre. “I was thinking of becoming a nurse, but changed my mind," Jansen revealed. "Music was more prevalent in my life." Her fifth album Bourbon & Roses garnered her a second nomination for best country act at New England Music Awards. Connecticut Country Music Association also recognized Jansen as Best Female Modern Country Vocalist and Best Recording for her original single, Moments . Jansen's main focus is on live shows at venues diverse as New York City 's famous Bitter End and Living Room , Nashville 's iconic Tootsies. |
She has also been a regular on Billy Block's radio show and opened for Phil Vassar.

Oklahoma doctor James Robert Webb debuts Behind Bars with Six Strings And The Truth.
It's an update on previous country staple Three Chords And The Truth that also inspired a book of the same name.
Webb, no relation to prolific hit writer and recent Australian tourist Jimmy Webb, recorded Six Strings And The Truth for his third album Honky Tonk Revival .
The Tulsa medic and Bendigo bluegrass ace chiropractor Hamish Davidson treat back ailments when not on stage.
“I'm a doctor and MD who specializes in helping people with back pain,” revealed Webb who grew up in Kellyville , Oklahoma .
“While music has always been there as a hobby, in 2012 I embarked on the singer-songwriter journey. I've had two cuts by other artists so far in 2017 and while I'm still waiting for my first top 10, I have had two top 40s already.”
Webb wrote most of Honky Tonk Revival with songwriter friend Alex Dooley.
They include the title track Heart Hangover, You Can Call Me Anytime, American Beauty and Man On A Mission.
“I released my first album last year although I have a Christmas CD from 2013, 2016 was an amazing year,” added Webb whose previous single was Daddy Made A Million .
“I opened for some incredible artists including Brothers Osborne , Randy Houser, Charlie Daniels, and even Marshall Tucker Band. I played official CMA Fest stage with Shenandoah and Johnny Lee and made my debut at the Ryman Auditorium .
“I grew up listening to the great vocalists like Jones, Haggard, Twitty, Rogers , Nelson, and Cash. When the new traditionalists came along like Strait, Garth, Randy Travis it was the best of both worlds. I fell in love with those meaningful, deep ballads like Unanswered Prayers and Diggin' Up Bones and got to rock out to honky tonk tunes like Hard Workin' Man and Chattahoochie .”

PAUL COSTA GOES OFF GRID

Sunraysia raised singer-songwriter Paul Costa finds a rustic rural retreat in his return to our show. The Robinvale reared singer escapes social media, traffic lights and phones in his video for Off The Grid from his fifth album Whisper In The Crowd. Costa wrote the song with Matt Scullion. "It's all about getting away from the rat race of everyday life. Away from traffic lights, phone calls, crowds and social media", Costa, 46, revealed. "I can't think of a better way of unwinding than going off the grid and soaking in nature for a little while”. The video was produced and directed by prolific film makers The Filmery . "I'm so excited about my new album Whisper In The Crowd ,” added Costa whose co-writers include Drew McAlister, Allan Caswell, and Pete Denahy. |
“It's been a while since the last one and I'm keen to get out and perform it live for the wonderful supporters of my music and catch up with my awesome friends in country media".
Paul, one of four singing siblings grew up in the Murray River orchard belt, also home to T-Bones founders Charlie Wilde and Andrew Pupillo.
He played the 2009 Black Saturday bushfire benefit concert in Whittlesea.

WESTERN CENTURIES ALSO OFF GRID

Seattle saddle tramps Western Centuries honoured pure country in their debut album title track Weight Of The World.
The quintet drove a vibrant vehicle into its rural roots with a song that shared sentiments and melody with the late Waylon Jennings smash hit Good Hearted Woman .
The band is Seattle-based Cahalen Morrison, jam band veteran Jim Miller, co-founder of Donna the Buffalo , R&B-bluegrass songwriter Ethan Lawton, pedal steel player Rusty Blake and bassist Dan Lowinger.
Weight Of The World was produced by Bill Reynolds in his Nashville studio and released on June 3.
It features three different songwriters and lead vocalists - Morrison, Miller and Lawton .

TIM WILSON PARODIES OLD SCHOOL FAMILY TIES

Late Georgian singing comedian and author Tim Wilson returns to Behind Bars with a song about a serial pest in need of back treatment from Dr Webb and Hamish Davidson. Wilson performs his classic parody He's My Brother In Law from his 1996 album Songs For The Musically Disturbed. Tim released 17 albums before he died at 52 in 2014. Tim and Roger Keiss wrote 2009 detective book Happy New Year Ted , about serial killer Ted Bundy. He also penned 1996 hit The Redneck 12 Days Of Christmas with fellow comic Jeff Foxworthy and is renowned for tunes diverse as Garth Brooks Has Ruined My Life and Sumo Wrestler Santa Claus. |
Wilson was born in Columbus where his parents were school teachers and attended Presbyterian College in Clinton , South Carolina as an English major.
Baritone Tim wrote the theme song of Wimmera born Presbyterian David Heard's long running popular show Acid Country on 3PBS-FM in Easey Street , Collingwood.
The former Columbus Ledger sports writer's 15 albums include Church League Softball Fight, I Should Have Married My Father-In-Law, Low-Class Love Affair, Hillbilly Homeboy and 2013 finale Caffeine Wired, Nervous & Pale.
Wilson, a self-described libertarian, wrote several parodies for 1980s comedy duo Pinkard & Bowden and began recording in Atlanta , Georgia , on Southern Tracks label with music publisher Bill Lowery.
Atlanta Rhythm Section members played on his early recordings with keyboardist Dean Daughtry producing.
Wilson later recorded with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section at their famed Alabama studio.
He produced Allnight Allstars with Muscle Shoals engineer Steve Melton with rock luminaries Jimmy Hall, Bobby Whitlock, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and the late Gregg Allman and Levon Helm.
