Lambert credits musician-songwriter father Rick - a former undercover Dallas narcotics cop and private detective - for her album title. That was a line Rick said to her at a show and stuck until she found a place for it. “It just felt really big and some ways heavy and some ways light. It sort of makes you think about a lot of things, just that one sentence,” Lambert revealed of her dad's remark. “We tried to write the song a few times and nothing really came of it, and going through this record process felt like it would tie everything together. “I needed a title that would sort of round out the edges I guess, and The Weight of These Wings felt right.” But the song is not about her divorce from former singing spouse Blake Shelton. Lambert, 33, and Shelton , now 40, were engaged in May 2010, wed on May 14, 2011 at Don Strange Ranch in Boerne , Texas , and announced their divorce after four years of marriage on July 20, 2015. “I'm never gonna have an album that's quote-unquote a heartbreak album,” revealed Lambert who is now dating fellow singer Anderson East. “Because everybody has bad moments, and then you come out of it, and you have a great moment, and then you have some sombre times. I want an emotional journey, because that's what life is, and I want to document that.” Miranda, dad Rick and East performed gospel song Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Stayed On Freedom with her band at a Chicago concert on her Highway Vagabond Tour. Lambert and her Pistol Annies pals Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley recorded Tulsa Time for Gentle Giants: The Songs of Don Williams out on May 26. She also runs pet charity the Mutt-nation Foundation and Pink Pistol shopping boutique in Texas hometown Lindale. CLICK HERE for a new Miranda Lambert CD feature in The Diary. Shelton finds a necklace on the floor in his new video for Every Time I Hear That Song from his 12 th album If I'm Honest . The necklace is lost and found before it boomerangs to him - unlike Blake's blonde belle. But in real life twice wed Blake boomeranged into the arms of an older woman - singer Gwen Stefani, 46 - one of his protégés in his role as judge and mentor on The Voice . Blake and Gwen performed a duet on their joint composition Go Ahead And Break My Heart on Billboard Music Awards on May 22 and The Voice. Every Time I Hear That Song was filmed in an industrial warehouse. Throughout the clip, Shelton is searching for and following a woman around. She's wearing a necklace that, at the beginning of the clip, the singer drops on the floor - she took it off and gave back to him after a fight. Every Time I Hear That Song was written by Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsey and the Warren Brothers - Brad and Brett. Blake joined Ryman Hospitality Properties - owners of Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium - to open two entertainment venues, both named Ole Red , in Nashville and Tishomingo , Oklahoma . The 26,000-square-foot Nashville club on Lower Broadway features 6,000-square-foot outdoor roof bar, live performance space for band showcases and small concerts, restaurant, dance floor, VIP booths and other amenities. Shelton plans to open it in April, 2018. The Tishomingo Ole Red location is on Main Street in a former dentist's office and building that once housed Miranda's Pink Pistol boutique. MATT J WARD VISITS TEXAS GHOST TOWN TERLINGUA Adelaide singer-songwriter Matt J Ward took a magical mystery tour from his day job with South Australia 's national park and wildlife management. He visited West Texas ghost town Terlingua and discovered rattlesnakes, tortoises and the historic gaol. The mercury mining ghost town inspired Jerry Jeff Walker's 1973 live album Viva Terlingua. Matt eulogised it in his video for his song Terlingua on his self-titled debut 5 track EP with his Rising Sons band. Ward divides his time between his music and day job in national park and wildlife management. His work and music have taken him across Australia and more recently desert regions of West Texas . Terlingua was inspired by the West Texan ghost town that once supported a mercury mine. It has since been abandoned and is home to many musicians looking for inspiration from its landscape and characters. Matt wrote Terlingua after he visited in 2015 and played shows at famed Starlight Theatre where Texan country musicians including George Goss and Butch Hancock play regularly. Ward's Australian concerts include Dive Bars and Bar Flies with artists diverse as Fanny Lumsden, Aaron Thomas, Nick Payne & Peasant Moon. Dive Bars and Bar Flies were created by Ward and fellow country artist Paul Heggart of The Heggarties to provide exposure for local and national country artists in smaller bars across his home state. Matt fronts two other bands Where There's Smoke and the Battle of Flowers with Yvette Booth.
