JERROD NIEMANN DONKEY TALES

Jerrod Niemann has a swift sequel to the video for his recent hit Drink To That All Night from his fifth album High Noon.

He gives us a short video explanation for his radio friendly tune Donkey in our aptly named Behind Bars segment in which the character rides his mule to the honky tonk when his wife hides the keys to his cars and pick-up trucks.

Yes, that sounds familiar for Niemann, now 34, and in a different driver's seat as a writer and singer.

Late Texan octogenarian George Jones drew from his own life with fourth singing spouse Tammy Wynette when he wrote Honky Tonk Song about mounting his rider mower to bars when she hid his truck and Caddie keys.

Junior Brown played the sheriff and nonagenarian Little Jimmy Dickens the bail bondsman in that famed video.

In Niemann's song he sings that his donkey is faster than The Possum's John Deere rider mower.

TYLER FARR PREFERS WHISKEY IN HIS WATER

Tyler Farr kicks off the show with his colourful video for Whiskey In My Water from his debut disc Redneck Crazy.

The singer explores the allure of hard liquor in the basement of his favourite distillery before driving his trust truck on a dirt road.

It's a little safer than the story of his previous video for the album title track where his character parked his Silverado on his belle's lawn with the headlights on her boudoir.

His jealousy sent him Redneck Crazy with help from fellow artists Colt Ford, Lee Brice and Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty TV show as his characters in rhyme.

Darius Rucker also snagged a few of the Duck Dynasty stars for his video of Wagon Wheel - the song penned by Bob Dylan and updated by Old Crow Medicine Show when they recorded it.

Farr also co-wrote songs Hey Y'all for Colt Ford and She's Just Like That for Joe Nichols.

In early 2012, Farr released debut single Hot Mess that he co-wrote with Rhett Akins.

Following the merger of his original label, BNA Records , Farr moved to Columbia to release second single, Hello Goodbye .

Redneck Crazy was his first Top 10 hit in 2013 - it was followed by Whiskey in My Water that peaked at #28.

CHARLA CORN RIDES THE RANCH RADIO

Texan Charla Corn had charming company when she hit the open road from Dallas to Austin to play for tips in her video for Next To You from her latest album Charla & The Train-wrecks .

The former Nashville TV show host is also a morning show DJ on acclaimed Americana radio station The Ranch in Fort Worth - Cowtown.

But her character in the video wasn't so lucky - she also had a hangover.

It was a complete contrast to the joyous occasion in 2012 at Tierra Verde Country Club in Arlington , Texas , when she wed strongman Bryan Barrett.

They met in 2009 in Mount Pleasant , Texas after a concert Charla performed at the local fair.

Growing up in Farwell , Texas , on outskirts of Clovis , New Mexico , Charla dreamed what her future husband would be like.

"I have waited a long time for God to send me a good man. Bryan was well worth the wait," Corn confessed.

“My dress was actually purchased six years ago from David's Bridal after my mother, Gwen Corn, had been diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She battled and beat it after a difficult five years.”

As guests were seated and groomsmen lined up at the altar Charla's brother Clayton and Steve Helms performed Lyle Lovett song South Texas Girl but changed lyrics to West Texas Girl .

Before walking down the aisle Charla and father Edward pulled up in a shiny black 1954 Chevy Pick-Up truck with red wheels built by House of Hotrods and provided by Arlington City Councilman Robert Rivera.

Charla sang Rebecca Lynn Howard song Jesus, Daddy and You .

At the end of the night, sparklers were passed out and waved in the air as the newlyweds raced out to the 1954 Chevy Pick-Up truck and drove away.

Only in Texas.

Corn released two previous CDs More Than I Should and Stella and was named best female artist at 2011 Texas Regional Radio Awards.

Her dual radio roles include singer and co-host The Ranch morning show with Justin Frazell.

Hometown Farwell was also launch pad of the late Waylon Jennings, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Joe Ely.

She honed song-writing skills at South Plains College in Levelland, less than 90 miles from home and about a half-hour west of Lubbock .

“It's a commercial music college, where you can actually get credit for singing songs and going onstage and recording,” Corn says.

“So that was a really, really cool school. And it was a great way to get experience up onstage.”

Corn moved to Nashville for eight years and was CMT TV host-performer.

“I'd play at The Bluebird Café and go to writers' rounds. That was probably the first kind of big, on my own, just me and my guitar, not knowing what people are going to think shows. You don't have the safety net of your vocal coach or your fellow students; it's just you and the mike and your hope that people are going to like it.”

“I did a red-carpet pre-show for Academy of Country Music Awards and CMT Awards red carpet and got to interview Taylor Swift, way before she was Taylor Swift,” Corn says.

“That's got to be one of the coolest jobs I've ever had.”

Corn made it to Season 2 of American Idol and Season 6 of Nashville Star .
