Superstar trio The Pistol Annies honour octogenarian Loretta Lynn in an exclusive live concert in Behind Bars on a show repeated Monday at 5.30 am and 2.30 pm and Wednesday at 2.30 am.
Kansas singer Jerrod Niemann raises his glass to one of the staples of country music with a little help from cameraman and editor Laith Graham.
Novocastrian Morgan Evans, who toured with Redneck Woman Gretchen Wilson in March also returns with his video for a new song from his debut album.
And Macedon Ranges singer Cooper West showcases a video he filmed on his farm.

When Eric Church first raised hell in his home state and beyond he feared his life might be truncated at the pass.
But, now at the age of 36, he can reflect with triumph in the video for A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young from his fifth album The Outsiders.
Church is joined by a colourful cast from his earlier video clips.

A Man Who Was Gonna Die Young is the third single on Church's big selling disc.

JERROD NIEMANN – DONKEY RIDING LIKE THE POSSUM

Kansas singer-songwriter Jerrod Niemann puts his damsels through hoops in the video for his recent hit Drink To That All Night. The song is on his fifth album High Noon . That eclectic disc includes the radio friendly tune Donkey in which the character rides his mule to the honky tonk when his wife hides the keys to his cars and pick-up trucks. Yes, that sounds familiar for Niemann, now 34, and in a different driver's seat as a writer and singer. |
Late Texan octogenarian George Jones drew from his own life with fourth singing spouse Tammy Wynette when he wrote Honky Tonk Song about mounting his rider mower to bars when she hid his truck and Caddie keys.
Junior Brown played the sheriff and nonagenarian Little Jimmy Dickens the bail bondsman in that famed video.
In Niemann's song he sings that his donkey is faster than The Possum's John Deere rider mower.

PUNCHY PISTOL ANNIES RINGSIDE FOR LORETTA IN FIST CITY

The Pistol Annies , no longer the new gals on the block, honour Coal Miner's Daughter Loretta Lynn when they perform her classic hit Fist City on the Grand Ole Opry in Behind Bars .
It's fitting the trio, formed in 2011, throw the punches for their Kentucky born mentor, now 81, and still singing.
Texan leader Miranda Lambert, 31, and Missouri minstrel Sheryl Crow, 52, joined Loretta in a previous video filmed at Lynn 's Dude Ranch south of Nashville for the title track of the Butcher Holler belle's tribute disc.
Fellow Annies Ashley Monroe, 27, and Kentuckian Angaleena Presley, 37, have cut two albums with Miranda as the Pistol Annies between solo projects and writing sessions.
The also set the marital home on fire in a live cut of Presley penned Housewife's Prayer - a song with similar sentiments to Gretchen Peters penned Martina McBride hit Independence Day.
Lambert, singing spouse of Oklahoma star and Voice judge and mentor Blake Shelton, won another three Academy Of Country Music Awards in Vegas in April.
Miranda was also maid of honor when Tennessean Ashley wed Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks at Blackberry Farm in October last year – four days after Kelly Clarkson.
Ashley, born at Corryton near Knoxville , and Novocastrian Catherine Britt wrote the vitriolic Call You Back Town and Down for Britt's self-titled fourth album.

THANK HEAVENS FOR MORGAN EVANS
Novocastrian singer-songwriter Morgan Evans shared geographical roots with Catherine Britt and guitarist Mark Wells.

Evans performs in the video for One Eye For An Eye - a song he wrote with Wells and performed live on his March national tour with Redneck Woman Gretchen Wilson. The song is on his self-titled debut album produced by Quorn born expat Aussie singer-songwriter and guitarist Jedd Hughes. Evans released two EPS before his belated album on March 14 that he is promoting on a Victorian tour in June after sharing bills with Van Diemen's Land band The Wolfe Brothers . Morgan won three awards at the seventh CMC Rocks The Hunter Festival in March and also wrote the theme song for the Newcastle Knights. “I've been to Rugby League games in Sydney and seen how the supporters come together and lift to songs like Glory, Glory To South Sydney and Oh When The Saints and I thought it'd be great to have something like that, here in Newcastle, to match the passion of the Knights fans,” Evans said of his song Long Live The Newcastle Knights . |
“I wanted to create something that would capture what it means to be a Novocastrian, what it means to be a Rugby League fan in Newcastle and what it means to wear that red and blue jumper to represent your family, your mates and your town.
“Through my contacts at the Knights I went in with my guitar and performed a very rough version of what I envisaged the song to be.
“It was seriously nerve racking experience performing it in front of Knights legends Matt Gidley and Chief as well as the current team.
“But the idea of singing this song, with the crowd, in a full Hunter Stadium, after cheering the boys on to a big win gives me goose bumps.”

COOPER WEST RIDES THE MACEDON RANGES

Victorian singer-songwriter Cooper West had fitting locales for filming his video for his evocative song Why. The Macedon Ranges minstrel filmed the inside scenes at a house in Lancefield – an area renowned for its wineries. Cooper's black eyed belle was played by a feisty feline Cat Hammat on the banks of a rustic creek that run through his farm. |
West released his debut EP Edge of The World in 2011 after winning the Whittlesea CMF Talent Quest in 2010.
