TEXAN
JACK HITS BIG TIME
Texan tourist
Jack Ingram debuts on Nu Country TV this Saturday - January 9 at 9.30pm
on C 31 - on the eve of his first Australian visit.
The singing actor performs in a video of a song he'll showcase at CMC
Rocks The Snowy festival at Thredbo on the March long weekend.
U.S. superstars Brooks & Dunn and Taylor Swift toured here last year
and return to the show hosted by Heather Rutherford.
Swift has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards in 2010 and makes her
second Australian tour in February.
Brooks & Dunn announced their split as a duo after their return tour
here in May with Dierks Bentley.
Grafton-born dual ARIA Award winner Troy Cassar-Daley returns to Nu Country
as a prelude to his Port Fairy Folk festival debut in March.
Broken Hill ballet dancing boxer Steve Rowe and Cessnock born chanteuse
Kel-Anne Brandt also debut on the show, repeated Tuesday at 3 pm and online
at the C 31 web page.
JEDD
HUGHES JOINS JACK
Jack Ingram
is the latest in a long line of Texans to hire expatriate South Australian
Jedd Hughes for his guitar playing and songwriting.
|
Energetic
axeman Hughes sang and played on Ingram's 13th album Big Dreams
& High Hopes.
That was after Hughes wrote and performed with Texas born Rodney Crowell
who toured here last April with Will Kimbrough.
Ingram, 38, performs in the video clip for his recent single Barefoot
& Crazy on famed Lake Travis near Texas capital Austin.
The singer's interview with Nu Country last year was part of a Guinness
World Records breaking interview marathon.
It was shortly after Hughes joined Ingram's choir on his revamp of
the 1999 Todd Snider-Ingram song Barbie Doll. |
Arizona born
Australian tourist Dierks Bentley was Jack's duet partner and Little Big
Town, Lost Trailers, Randy Houser, James Otto, Hughes and songwriter Bruce
Sanders filled the redneck choir.
Ingram recently appeared in TV soapie Army Wives and was also in
movies diverse as Abilene, with Ernest Borgnine, and Hope Floats.
Jack heads the international cast at the CMC Rocks The Snowy festival
in Thredbo on March 5 and 6 with Texan Nanci Griffith and Virginia born
pianist Phil Vassar.
He also tours Queensland and NSW with Canadian Doc Walker and Grenfell
gaucho Steve Forde - also on the Thredbo bill.

at their Tennessee winery and quarter horse stud that employs three Australians.
