Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard lured their wives Brittney Cole Kelley and Hayley Hubbard to the Port Campbell cliff tops to appear in the video from their third album Dig Your Roots , scheduled for release in August. It's not the first time the Florida femme fatales appeared in the duo's videos. “The stripped down cliff-side scenes and sweeping vistas of a 25,000 year dormant volcano, matched with lyrics of love's salvation, culminate in an astounding visual as an ode to their wives,” was how the video was promoted in the U.S. “There's something to be said for sharing your life with someone. We're officially a team now. We're building something together,” Kelley said of creative input of the duo's wives. “I think people can see our love for our wives and the passion that we have for being good husbands in this song.” Hubbard, no relation to Texan troubadour Ray Wylie Hubbard, added “that's the key, we're both madly in love and our world revolves around our wives and our music.” High rotation of the video on international TV is a huge boost for Shipwreck Coast tourism that recently received local funding for accommodation and better viewing facilities. Holy , aka High On Loving You , was written by prolific Nashville hit tunesmiths Mike Busbee, Nate Cyphert and William Larsen. It's unlikely the writers were privy to veteran Shipwreck Coast pioneer outlaw band The Dead Livers mystical hit Holy Mary that also name checked Apollo Bay, Port Campbell and Warrnambool in its religious imagery. That tune's writer was retired Portland singing school teacher Marty Atchison - son of a Western District wool classer. Marty was inspired by boarding at Monivae College in Hamilton with the band's bassist Michael Schack and trips down the Great Ocean Road. Schack, son of a Glenthompson soldier settler and second Dead Livers member to recover after liver transplants, now performs with local bands from his home near Koroit satellite suburb Yarpturk. He wrote our web page diary of his odyssey to the 42nd Willie Nelson July 4 picnic last year. CLICK HERE for Schack's odyssey in our Concerts section. JASON ALDEAN LIGHTS UP Georgian chart-topper Jason Aldean returns with his video for Lights Come On that he showcased here in March at Margaret Court Arena. Aldean, 39, toured to promote sixth album Old Boots New Dirt that is accompanied by live concert DVD Night Train To Georgia. Aldean's video acting was enhanced by a role in historic Sweetwater movie with Ed Harris and January Jones. Sweetwater, released as Sweet Vengeance in the UK, is a 2013 American thriller western film directed by Logan Miller and co-written with Andrew McKenzie and Noah Miller. The movie is set in the late 1800s with a beautiful ex-prostitute trying to rebuild her life with her husband in the rugged plains of New Mexico. Aldean and childhood sweetheart wife Jessica Ussery - mother of his two daughters - split on April 26, 2013. On March 21, 2015, he wed American Idol singer Brittany Kerr. Aldean owns hunting company Buck Commander and 1300 acres of land outside Nashville - Black Jack Ridge. Jason's record company Sony has released his entire recording catalogue from a decade long career on indie label Broken Bow . Clark was nominated for two 2014 Country Music Association Awards for New Artist and Song of the Year for Texan Kacey Musgraves hit Follow Your Arrow . Brandy was reared in Morton, Washington - a logging town of only 900 people in shadows of Mount St. Helens. Her indie album features Vince Gill on background vocals and debuted at #28 on Billboard . Clark made her CBS network TV debut with Stripes on David Letterman's late lamented show. Clark opened for Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles on her 2014 tour and wrote satiric Songs About Trucks for Waco country singer Wade Bowen. Sierra hails from Byrdstown and self-released debut disc Angel Mountain at the age of 11 and Rounder Records album Secrets at 16. The mandolinist graduated from famed Berklee School of Music in Boston and launched third album Daybreak in 2001. Banjo ace Bela Fleck produced Weighted Mind with guest vocals from singing spouse Abigail Washburn, Alison Krauss and Rhiannon Giddens. Hull wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 songs on Weighted Mind. The writing and production paint a portrait of a young woman confused and bewildered by the world around her as she leaves childhood behind. She admits much of the music came to her through real life. "I think the clouds have cleared up anybody that knows me knows I'm a naturally happy person,” Sierra revealed in an interview before appearing at the Telluride bluegrass festival with artist divers as John Prine and The Punch Brothers. “I'm very blessed in my life, and really, even on those worst days of being down about, you know, whatever, something that just doesn't feel like I'm in the right place or something, I still also realize I've got it a lot more fortunate than most people. But I think what happens is that." "I'm a very kind of emotional person in general. I tend to write more when I'm feeling more sorrow, I guess, than when I'm happy. If I wrote songs about when I was happy, I'd probably have a lot more songs, truly, than I would the other way. It wasn't just an artistic re-awakening I found there, it was quite a strong personal one too. I was in a creative crevice. But for some reason the sound of the music that goes with songs that are more about sorrow, like even musically I think, sometimes I'm just more drawn to at this point in my life. I'm not sure why, but that seems to be the natural thing right now." So taxing that Rogers drives Shane to busking to pay the rent in his humorous new video for Weight Of The World from his sixth solo album Hell Breaks Loose. Well, Shane could have returned to the digs of Captain Percy Pierre Gustaf-Janson whose 1842 vintage Rutherglen House bluestone animal mausoleum in Highlander Lane in our CBD was the locale for the launch of Wreck & Ruin - the second duet disc with former singing spouse Kasey Chambers. The octogenarian former racing car driver and retired socialite has a few vacancies for new arrivals among his vast taxidermy treasures - perhaps a niche beside the unfortunate giraffe who was one of the first victims of the nearby Montague Street bridge. Shane credits equally historic Hermannsburg - 130 km from Alice Springs and home of fellow singer-songwriter Warren H Williams - as his salvation, rejuvenation and birthplace of Hell Breaks Loose, produced by Matt Fell. The athletes compete in front of cars parked behind oval fences where car horns are often mistaken for sirens that start and end each quarter and game. Michael name checks footy icons - Drouin raised Gary Ablett, Kevin Sheedy, Alex Jesaulenko, Buddy Franklin and Nick Riewoldt - in a song that finds players hoping to reach the under 14's before soaring even higher. It may be a more lucrative career than the dairy farmers' indentured slavery to corporate milk processors whose greed has soured not just the milk but rural families' lives. Michel has covered that subject in his new song Baling Twine. CLICK HERE for a Michael Waugh feature in the Diary on February 1, 2016.
