BRITT AND BRAND AND THE PIGS HEADLINE NU COUNTRY TV
Novocastrian Catherine Britt, Queensland restaurateur Adam Brand and Sydney bluegrass band The Pigs headline Nu Country TV Saturday May 2 at 10.30 pm on Channel 31/Digital 44.
Georgians Jason Aldean and Trisha Yearwood also return to Behind Bars on the show hosted by Mid Pacific Bob Olson and edited and filmed by Laith Graham.
Texan Brandon Rhyders debuts on the program repeated Monday 5.30 am and 2.30 pm, Tuesday 4 pm, Wednesday 7.30 am and Thursday 2.30 am.

CATHERINE BRITT - TRUE GRIT CRIME SONG

Catherine Britt gunned her bike to fire shots at Hunter Valley crime scenes in Singleton and Lake St Clair in her video for Good To Bad from her sixth album Bone Shaker.
Britt's crime narrative tells the story of a farmer driven to growing dope in an ill-fated attempt to save the family farm.
The Novocastrian, now 29, recorded her album in Seattle and duets with seven times wed Texan Steve Earle on the disc finale You And Me Against The World .
She recorded it at Hadlock's Beer Creek Studio with producer Ryan Hadlock .
“We made it in a backwoods barn, on a farm, so it was still really country,” Britt explains.
“Ryan was very involved, very passionate about it - he really cared. He suggested musicians, and I chose them with him through a rigorous process before recording the album, but we were on the same page about everything, which I'll admit was a big relief. We used a lot of the same musicians he had used with Vance Joy and the Lumineers . I basically got both their bands, combined, which is pretty amazing.”
She co-wrote songs with Felicity Urquhart, Melanie Horsnell and the title track with Tony Buchen.
When Britt cut her fifth self-titled album in Austin in the heart of Texas she mined a murder vein from deep in our red heart.
She resurrected the old style murder ballad popularised in the thirties and forties and refined down the years.
Britt's teen tragedy Sally Bones was rooted in the tribal tribulations of our outback culture crosses all races, genders and genres.
She reportedly sourced the subject from cousin Bess Nungarrayi Price - a key warrior in her brave battle against child sexual abuse and neglect in Northern Territory Aboriginal communities.

ADAM BRAND CLEANS UP HIS SIDE OF THE STREET

Perth born former Colac and Wallington star Adam Brand cleans his side of a Townsville by-way in the title track of his 12 th album My Side Of The Street. Brand became king of the kids and other volunteers in a mass clean-up but they missed the graffiti. Adam, now 45, has two Brandy's restaurants - in Townsville & Coffs Harbour The singer is touring with duet partner - Fawkner born singer-songwriter Jasmine Rae whose fourth album Heartbeat was released this month with a video filmed by award-winning music video producer and film-maker Robb Cox. THE PIGS FIND THE DEVIL INSIDE INXS

Sydney bluegrass band The Pigs revive the old INXS hit The Devil Inside from their fourth album Home Brew - 13 Aussie classics done bluegrass style.
The Pigs are touring nationally to promote their album on radio and TV.

Fellow Georgian born singer-songwriter Trisha Yearwood first toured here in 1994 with her second ex-husband - former Mavericks bassist Robert Reynolds. Trisha, now wed to Oklahoma superstar Garth Brooks, returns Behind Bars with her video for Wrong Side Of Memphis that she revived on her 14th album Prize Fighter - Hit After Hit. The singer, now 50, has written several cook books & hosts Emmy winning TV show Trisha's Southern Kitchen. |
She also starred in TV shows Jag and Dr Quinn Medicine Woman and Bluebird Café movie Thing Called Love.

BRANDON RHYDER - TRUCKS, TRACTORS, GUNS AND BOWS AND ARROWS

Texan Brandon Rhyder extols country life - trucks, tractors, fillies, fish and family with lethal bows, arrows and guns in his video for That's Just Me - title track of his eighth album in 2013 on Reserve Records . Brandon hails from Carthage and is part of the Texas red dirt country scene. Rhyder graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in industrial technology. |
“I could escape in music, I love words, I love being my own guy,” Rhyder said of That's Just Me.
“It's not something that I sought to achieve, but I just see words and chords and songs differently than many.”
That's Just Me, produced by Rhyder and his long-time guitarist Matt Powell, is the latest in his 12 year career.
It was recorded and carefully crafted at The Zone in Dripping Springs, Texas, and includes co-writes with fellow Texan friends Josh Abbott and Wade Bowen.
The debut single Haggard is heavily inspired by Charlie Daniels and Riders in the Sky and is a clear picture into Rhyder's youth.
It hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report in May.
Rhyder released his first album in 2001, second album Behind The Pine Curtain in 2003 and Conviction, produced by Walt Wilkins, in August 2005.
His fourth album Live on Apex Records in Nashville , produced his first number #1 Texan hit - Before I Knew Your Name.
Brandon released fifth record Every Night , produced in 2008 by Radney Foster, and Wilkins produced sixth album Head Above Water on Thirty Tigers , on February 16, 2010.
It featured Rock Angel - another Texas Music chart #1 hit - and included a bonus DVD featuring an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the disc.
