LEE
KERNAGHAN IN TEXAS
|
When
Aussie country king Lee Kernaghan recorded his song Texas Qld 4385
he soon had a big fan - Texan Governor Rick Perry.
Lee's song - about the tiny Queensland rural town - was a favourite
with Governor Perry who heard it a lavish party thrown by movie star
Russell Crowe in Hollywood.
The Lone Star State Governor ensured Kernaghan's song scored exposure
on radio in one of hottest country strongholds in the U.S. |
Kernaghan
is likely to win further Texas publicity if singing crime novelist and
frequent Aussie tourist Kinky Friedman deposes Perry in the 2006 election.
The Kinkster, a big fan of the late Slim Dusty and Corowa born Kernaghan,
will have sold a brace of his new crime books by the time the result is
known.
Meanwhile Kernaghan performs his song from big selling eighth album Electric
Rodeo on Nu Country this week.
