DIXIE CHICKS HATCH VIDEO
Texan
trio The Dixie Chicks also guest on Nu Country TV with a flashback
video of 'There's Your Trouble' from their fourth album 'Wide
Open Spaces.'
The superstars were snubbed at the 37th CMA Awards in Nashville earlier
this month and also black-banned by some U.S. corporate radio chains.
They were also attacked by precious peers including Toby Keith.
Ironically, Keith was snubbed by voters in the CMA Awards despite
making the finals of seven categories and performing his new hit #1
hit, 'I Love This Bar.'
Dixie Chicks sales soared here after a TV advertising blitz before
their second Australian tour in spring. |
|
The trio
was rewarded here for its freedom of speech with hefty CD and DVD sales
for sixth album 'Home.'

BROKEN SPOKE RUNNIN' ON EMPTY
Maverick
Melbourne band 'Broken Spoke' also debut live on the show this Saturday
with their original tune 'Runnin'.
It's not the debut, of course, of the band's lead singer and songwriter
Paul Hicks who has won a vast galaxy of fans in his TV hosting role.
|
The
song is from the band's debut six track CD 'Country Roots Rock'
on their indie label 'Broken Spoke.'
The video is a mixture of footage from recording at Jam Tin studio,
Cheltenham, and the Nu Country TV launch and memorial concert to
'Haybalers' guitarist Hans Herdina at the Bush Inn, West Toorak,
on July 26.
Broken
Spoke
|
Hicks, a
long time Nu Country DJ, formed the band from the ashes of 'The Haybalers'
- a band he played in with fellow station DJS Red Smith (bass) and late
guitarist Hans.
Broken Spoke also features Nu Country technician-sound mixer Rodger Delfos
(guitar) and veteran drummer Ron Mahony.
The band follows Delfos's other band the 'Dead Livers' to Warrnambool,
Port Fairy and Koroit for their second Shipwreck Coast tour over summer.

MID PACFIC BOB - FIRE EXTINGUISHER NOT NEEDED
Expatriate
Californian culinary king Mid Pacific Bob Olson has removed the all purposes
fire extinguisher from his kitchen for this week's recipe Mole, pronounced
Moh-lay.
The Northcote High mathematics teacher and popular Nu Country DJ filmed
his segment quite a few weeks ago before exams.
But Bob was mighty peeved to note that his recipe had been pilfered by
a commercial TV show.
Imitation is a high form of flattery and Bob gives us his delicacy with
an accent few will copy.
