OUT ON THE WEEKEND - SUMMER ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY

Prolific promoter and record company creator Brian Taranto has boomeranged to rescue live music on the dock of the bay at Steamworks in Williamstown.
Taranto breaks the pandemic drought with the return of his acclaimed seventh eclectic roots music Out On The Weekend festival on Saturday December 11.
The annual festival suffered a 2020 hiatus but features a vast cast of Australian bands and solo performers on several indoor and outdoor stages from 11 am until late in the evening.
It also showcases artists on Taranto's Love Police Record And Tapes label that he re-launched with former Shock and Warner Music label promoter Dave Laing.
They include inner city Melbourne singer-songwriter Alex Hamilton who re-released his debut album Sweetest Wine featuring Grace Cummings, Leah Senior and Cahill Kelly.
It was produced by Jesse Williams who recorded and mixed Cummings Refuge Cove.
Taranto's Love Police label has also released Warumpi Band - Warumpi Rock : Papunya Sessions 1982, Melissa Carper Daddy's Country Gold and Mylee Grace Whiplash In The Mosh Pit .

Gippsland raised Weddings Parties Anything co-founder Michael Thomas and his Roving Commission are among festival headliners.
The resilient and prolific ARIA-winning Northcote publican, now 62, and his band released two albums during lockdown - See You On The Other Side and City's Calling Me.

Expat Kiwi Matt Joe Gow and his band The Dead Leaves showcase material from their four albums.
Gow's touring partner Ben Mastwyk and His Millions perform tunes from their three albums including latest release Living On Gold Street .
Henry Wagons and his Wagons band revisit songs from their 20-year career and recent albums.
Lachlan Bryan is now recording with Catherine Britt as The Pleasures for her Beverley Hillbilly Records label.
This time Bryan returns with his previous band The Wildes who made their first album in 2010 and have plenty of new songs in their set.

Melbourne singer-songwriters Suzannah Espie, Helen Ryder, Sarah Carroll, Liam Gerner, and Lachlan Bryan perform a tribute show The Girl from Chickasaw County to legendary Mississippi singer-songwriter Bobbie Gentry.
Thrice wed Bobbie, now 79 and born Roberta Lee Streeter, was honoured with an eight-disc box set titled The Girl from Chickasaw County: The Complete Capitol Masters featuring all her Capitol recordings in September 2018.
The Steamworks quintet's tribute includes their favourite Gentry songs dating back to her 1967 hit Ode To Billie Joe.
They are backed by the Okolona Four featuring Bruce Haymes on keyboards, guitarist Mitch Power, bassist Stephen Hadley and drummer Roger Bergodaz.
Liz Stringer and her band perform songs dating back to her 2006 debut album through to her sixth album First Time Really Feeling.
She also features tunes with the Dyson Stringer Cloher trio with Mia Dyson and Jen Cloher.
Katie Bates returns with songs from 2018 debut EP New Gold including 2019 single Polka Dot Dress and more from her 2022 album release.
