ROSANNE CASH HEADS SUMMER TOURISTS

Australian
country music fans will enjoy the seasonal flood of international
artists touring over the summer of 2007 but two of the biggest acts
are unlikely to perform in Victoria. Lauderdale, who released two new discs here in November, played the Corner Hotel in Richmond on his 2002 tour with Kim Richey, Canadians Jason McCoy and Fred Eaglesmith and Audrey Auld Mezera. |

FRED EAGLESMITH TOUR #5

Eaglesmith
is booked to return here for his fifth Australian tour in March with
gigs at Byron Bay, Sydney and Melbourne. Kieran Kane, drummer son Lucas, Kevin Welch and Fats Kaplan are also returning here for Byron Bay and other gigs in NSW and Victoria. They're promoting latest album Lost John Dean (Dead Reckoning-Shock) that also features another new tune penned by Welch and prolific progeny Dustin. |
The quartet
is touring to capitalise on popularity for a collective 18 albums dating
back to 1982.
Other major country artists have also been booked for the 31st Port Fairy
folk festival from March 9-12.

DALE
WATSON BACK FROM TEXAS
Also making his fourth Australian tour is Texan honky tonker Dale Watson
who will play NSW and Victoria.
Crosby, Stills & Nash also perform the winery circuit here in February
- the same month as the return tour by U.S. husband and wife duo The Handsome
Family.
Steven Stills toured here in the early seventies with his band Manassas
and played the famed by ill-fated Mulwala pop festival across the Murray
from Yarrawonga.
New Orleans born blues singer Chris Smither also returns here in March.
STEVE YOUNG AND MARY GAUTHIER

Georgian
born Steve Young, who hails from Newnan - same hometown as superstar
Alan Jackson - is also back here in January for his fifth Australian
tour. Young, now 64, and Louisiana born singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier play Harvest Festival at Red Hill and other Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide concerts. Young's 12th album Primal Young was released worldwide in 1999 by Australian label Shock. A new album Songlines Revisited Volume 1 was released in 2005. |

Also playing
