Chris Stapleton Headlines Nu Country 0n Eve Of Aussie Tour
Kentucky coal-miner’s son and chart topper Chris Stapleton headlines Nu Country TV at 9.30 pm on Saturday August 10 on the eve of his Australian tour in February.
Singing actor superstar Dolly Parton boomerangs to our show with a double shot on our program repeated Monday at 3 am.
Mississippi minstrel and Australian tourist Randy Houser, Chattanooga star Brandon Maddox and Kiwi singer-songwriter Kayla Mahon appear on our show filmed and produced by Laith Graham.
This series is dedicated to late Nu Country TV host and treasurer Mid-Pacific Bob Olson and Vice President Rod Browne.

Chris Stapleton, Jennifer Hudson and the War and Treaty
Kentuckian coal-miner’s son Chris Stapleton joins The War And Treaty and Chicago born actress singer Jennifer Hudson on her TV show.
They perform a live video for Loving You On My Mind that follows three Hudson albums.
The War And Treaty features Michigan duo Michael Trotter Jr and Tanya Trotter.
Stapleton, 46, plays Rod Laver Arena on February 25 and 26, 2024.
Chris released his fifth album Higher last year.
He previously appeared on our show with a hot band live on the 2021 CMA awards in Nashville with big hit Cold from his fourth solo album Starting Over that topped charts on debut.
Chris and singing spouse Morgane are busy as parents of 5 children including twins.
They performed on Nu Country with their live video Arkansas.
Chris and Miranda Lambert performed a tribute to his pet pooch who died after 16 years at the Stapleton home in recent video Maggie’s Song – also on Starting Over.
Producer Dave Cobb guested on Chris videos for Shameless and Starting Over – title track of his album with 11 of his original songs released on November 13, 2021.

Dolly Parton and Blessing Offor
Eleven time Grammy winner and singer-songwriter actor country queen Dolly Parton is joined by Nigerian born gospel ace Blessing Offor on the first of her double shots on this week’s show.
They perform Somebody’s Child from her 51st album.
She also revived historic Collective Soul song Shine as she took a trip down memory lane and other Nashville locales.
Dolly, now 78, led her cool band down alleys and railroad tracks.
Parton first heard the song with her husband Carl Dean.
She met Carl 62 years ago en route to the Wishy-Washy laundromat
Shine won Dolly one of her eleven Grammys in 2O01 after it was on her album Little Sparrow.
Shine follows her bluegrass and Rockstar albums and Tom Petty tributes
Dolly recently released her new picture book about her god-dog, Billy the Kid Makes It Big, about her dog who barks to the beat of country music and has dreams of becoming a country music star in Nashville.
Billy the Kid Makes It Big is a New York Times bestselling book winner.
She also fronted our show with Texan Miranda Lambert on Dumb Blonde – the first hit on Dolly’s 1967 debut album Hello I’m Dolly.
Dolly also released her album Run, Rose, Run that shares its name with a best-selling book she wrote with famed author James Patterson and features Ben Haggard and Joe Nichols as guests.
It precedes her Rockstar album featuring artists diverse as Chris Stapleton, John Fogerty and Ringo Starr on her Butterfly Records.
She also released another new book Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones.
Parton teamed with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams for her sequel of her Dolly’s Strawberry Pretzel Pie ice cream to promote her album on her Butterfly label.
Some proceeds from sales go to Parton’s beloved literacy program, The Imagination Library.
Parton contributed $1 million to funding of COVID-19 vaccine, fronted Time 100 and People of the Year honours and raised $700,000 for Tennessee flood relief.
She released Dolly Parton’s Baking Collection that includes her Southern Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix, Southern Style Banana Flavored Cake Mix, Creamy Buttercream Frosting, Chocolate Buttercream Frosting and a collectible tea towel and spatula.

Randy Houser Country Back
Mississippi minstrel Randy Houser returns to our show after making his second tour here last year with Georgian Kip Moore
Randy, now 48, brought his Sydney born wife Tatiana and their son Huckleberry Houser.
This week her performs his Country Back video that follows his sixth album Note To Self.
Huckleberry didn’t have a cameo in the rustic cabin in Randy’s previous Nu Country acoustic video for Still That Cowboy from Note To Self.
Randy wed Tatiana Starzynski on May 4, 2016, after being introduced by songwriter pal Dallas Davidson – her brother-in-law.
Houser previously fronted our show with Note To Self at Tootsie’s Orchid lounge before hitting famed Ryman auditorium stage.
He co-wrote the title track of Willie Nelson’s 2020 album First Rose Of Spring after sold out concerts at Corner Hotel, Richmond, and CBD Forum in December of 2019.
Randy and rodeo queen Kylie Frey also fronted our show with her Horses In Heaven on stage at National Rodeo Finals in Arlington, Texas, and love songs Our Hearts and High Times from fifth album Magnolia.
When his parents divorced when he was seven he spent summers with his professional singer and musician dad and played Mississippi clubs at 15.
He moved to Nashville as demo singer after his dad died and won publishing deals at Windswept Music and joined Jamey Johnson and Davidson to write Honky Tonk Badonkadonk hit for singing actor Trace Adkins.
He cut an unreleased album with MCA producer James Stroud before Anything Goes 2008, They Call Me Cadillac 2010, How Country Feels 2013 and Fired Up in 2016.

Brandon Maddox Drives to Drink
Chattanooga singer-songwriter Brandon Maddox debuts on our show with his drink driving parody.
The 2017 Monster Truck winner advised fellow truckers to leave their liquor at home while on the road.
Drive Me To Drink is on his fourth album that follows his hits Neon Fishing, Whiskey On You and Outlaw Thang
Brandon also fronted our show with videos for Last Farm In The U.S.A. and Cruising In A Small Town.
Brandon was born near Chattanooga where he wrote his first song at 11 and moved to Nashville and wrote songs while touring in truck shows.
Brandon was named Monster Truck Artist of 2017 for his hit Dixie Chaser and winner of Song of the Year in 2019 for Drive Me to Drink.

Kayla Mahon Chases and Bombshell Bobby
Kiwi singer-songwriter Kayla Mahon debuts on Nu Country TV with a humorous video about a town gossip named Bobby.
Bombshell Bobby is on her album Right On The Money that was released on May 24.
Kayla is an instrumentalist, music teacher and nurse from the South Island of Aotearoa in New Zealand who began performing at the age of four.
She debuted in the duo The Heartleys and later as a solo artist with singles Love’s Got a Witness, Angels Biding Time, Girl On The Move and Little Man.
Kayla returned to Nashville in June 2023 and worked with producer Jay Tooke of Penny Arcade Productions and co-writer Ryan Sorestad.

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling’s favourite Texans.
The Waylon, Highwaymen, Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon’s birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 81, and son Shooter, 45.
