Randy Houser Headlines Nu Country TV
Mississippi minstrel and frequent Australian tourist Randy Houser headlines Nu Country TV at 9 pm on Saturday March 1 on Channel 31/Digital 44.
Third generation Kentucky rancher-singer-songwriter Alex Miller and fellow Kentuckian Kelsea Ballerini boomerang to our show repeated at 3 am on Monday.
Recent Australian tourists Riley Green and Ella Langley, Presley & Taylor and Kiewa Valley raised singer-songwriter Gretta Ziller also perform on the program filmed and edited by Laith Graham.

Randy Shows How Country Feels

Randy Houser, who returned here in January, tells how country freedom feels to folks stuck in the big smoke in his How Country Feels video – his 2013 album title track.
It was not about his Sydney born wife Tatiana Starzynski whom he wed on May 4, 2016, and is mother of two sons including eldest Huckleberry who joined him on stage in January at Corner Hotel, Richmond.
Houser also joined Georgian Kip Moore at Margaret Court Arena last March.
Randy, 49, released his sixth album Note To Self in 2022.
He also fronted Nu Country with Country Back, Note To Self, Horses In Heaven and Still That Cowboy.
Randy co-wrote the title track of Willie Nelson’s 2020 album First Rose Of Spring after sold out concerts at Corner Hotel, Richmond, and CBD Forum in December of 2019.
He cut an unreleased album with MCA producer James Stroud before Anything Goes 2008, They Call Me Cadillac 2010, How Country Feels 2013 and Fired Up in 2016.

Alex Miller Silage Star

Third generation Kentucky rancher and singer-songwriter Alex Miller celebrates the bucolic belle of his dreams in his Nu Country return.
At 6 foot six Alex, just 21, is a big country star.
Especially when he finds a blonde bombshell who drives tractors and tosses him into a silo in his latest video.
She Makes Country Look Good follows two albums and is on new EP My Daddy’s Dad.
Alex illustrated his family’s third generation legacy with eulogies for his late grandfather in Nu Country videos My Daddy’s Dad and When God Made The South.
He also graced our show with his Putting Up Hay, Girl I Know A Guy, Through With You and Don’t Let The Barn Door Hit Ya videos.
Miller grew up on his family farm in Lancaster and was 17 when he fronted American Idol.

Ella Langley And Riley Green Love Celebration

Alabama born duo Riley Green and Ella Langley return to our show with new duet You Look Like You Love Me from Ella’s debut album Hungover.
Riley, now 36, recently headlined Ridin’ Hearts festival at Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby.
Green was a Jacksonville State University football team quarterback before his music career.

Riley released his third album Don’t Mind If I Do last year that followed six EPs.
Green is known for hunting deer and turkeys for supper on his hunting shows on Dirt Road TV after being a castaway contestant on CMT reality show Redneck Island.
He has released two albums and six EPs including Outlaws Like Us that featured Bury Me In Dixie – not the tiny town north of Terang on our Shipwreck Coast.
Green was born into songwriting and performing with his grandfather Buford Green.
“My Paw-Paw opened a music hall in 2003, where he’d always say music goes from The Bar Room To The Pulpit And Back each Friday Night,” Green revealed.
“My Granddaddy Buford taught me a love for old traditional country, bluegrass, and southern gospel music.”
Riley also fronted our show with If It Wasn’t For Trucks from third album Different Around Here, There Was This Girl on second album In A Truck Right Now, Bury Me In Dixie and Damn Good Day To Leave.

Ella, now 25, hails from Hope Hull in Alabama.
She debuted on Nu Country with her Hungover video – title track of her deluxe debut album on SAWGOD/Columbia Records released last November and follows her 2023 EP Excuse the Mess.

Presley And Taylor Leave The Pieces

Presley & Taylor leave love in pieces on their Nu Country return.
The New England sisters took revenge on a cheating cad in their night on the town in previous Nu Country TV video Honky Tonk Girl.

Mentor Keith Burns discovered Presley & Taylor at Nashville’s Tequila Cowboy bar before they recorded for producer James Stroud’s Mustang record label.
Leave The Pieces is on their new album produced by Jimmy Ritchey.
It follows their singles Honky Tonk Girl, Don’t Even Know Your Mama, Never Not A Good Time, Shy Guy, Limited Edition, 22 Red Flags and The Storm.
The duo opened shows for Old Dominion, Martina McBride, Sammy Kershaw, Jimmie Allen and performed with Pam Tillis at Grand Ole Opry.

Gretta Ziller Heads South From Upper Kiewa Valley

Gretta Ziller was raised on a northern Victorian farm at Thologolong near Wodonga and returned to our show after moving south to Melbourne.
Gretta learned violin, cello, double bass and bagpipes at Scots School, Albury, and was Pipe Band Coordinator.
She scored a Voice Bachelors’ Degree and was in Trinity College Choir from 2000-2002 and co-founded old-time bluegrass band Orange Blossom.
Her biggest audience was with Johnny Farnham at the 2009 AFL Grand Final when Geelong won its eighth premiership.

This week she performs One Day from third album All These Walls that follows previous albums Queen of Boomtown and Judas Tree.
Gretta performed live at Curtin Room in Carlton with Berwick dual Golden Guitarist Andrew Swift in her Nu Country video Go On – fifth single from Queen Of Boomtown.
She showcased her Celtic and German heritage in her candle lit video Hunt For Love and was accompanied by her dog and horse in the song she wrote for five track EP Hell’s Half Acre named after her trip to Alberta, Canada.

Kelsea Ballerini Maternal Message

Kentucky singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini returns to our show with a maternal message in Sorry Mum from her fifth album Patterns.
Kelsea, now 31, was once married to expatriate Novocastrian star Morgan Evans.
She recorded 2023 EP Rolling Up The Welcome Mat after her marriage break-up and is now dating actor Chase Stokes.
Kelsea also fronted Nu Country TV with Miss Me More and Love Is A Cowboy – one of 15 songs she wrote for her fourth album Subject To Change – after her divorce from Evans on August 29, 2022.
Kelsea and Morgan chose their Hawaiian holiday locale for previous video Day Drunk with swimming, water slides, waterfalls, riding ATVs, Jeeps and a helicopter.
Ballerini also fronted our show with tongue-in-cheek tune I Hate Love Songs.
Kelsea was born in Mascot and moved to Knoxville before she found love down under when she met her ex-husband Evans and married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2017.

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling’s favourite Texans.
The Waylon, Highwaymen, Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon’s birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 81, and son Shooter, 45.
