Lee Kernaghan Headlines Nu Country TV
Australian country music king Lee Kernaghan and James Johnston headline Nu Country TV at 9 pm on Saturday February 15 on Channel 31/ Digital 44.
Triple 2024 and 2025 Tamworth Golden guitarist and Star Maker winner Max Jackson and Rockhampton singer Bella Mackenzie return to the show repeated at 3 am Monday.
Kentuckian Carly Pearce, South Dakota trailer park star Dennis Cockerham and The Dugger Band also perform on the program filmed and edited by Laith Graham.
Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.

Lee And James Johnston Charity Champions

Corryong born country king Lee Kernaghan and dual Golden Guitarist James Johnston celebrate our heroes on the front line and bush in their Nu Country TV return.
They debut Who I Am that is on Lee’s 20th album out this year.
Who I Am was written by Kernaghan and Johnston with Nolan Wynne, Nick Wolfe and Colin Buchanan.

It digs deep into Lee and James’ roots paying tribute to the people and land they love.
Who I Am began with a chance encounter between the singers when James was just starting out.
Lee recalled “I remember meeting James when he was just 10 years old busking on Peel St Tamworth”.
James recalled “As a young boy I grew up listening to Lee’s music, it made me feel proud of the life I lived as a small town country kid”.
Lee, 60 and OAM has won 38 Golden guitars, four ARIA and three APRA Awards in his 40 year career.
Johnston, 34, was born in Wingham NSW and busked in Tamworth as a child.
He arrived at Tamworth festival this year after running 100 kilometres to raise $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
Johnston hosted Tamworth Golden Guitars concert as a finalist in four categories and released his debut solo album Raised Like That in 2023.
James was raised on a forty acre farm at Wingham near Manning River on New South Wales north coast.
He travelled with his dad as tractor salesman-mechanic and debuted on stage at four with a Garth Brooks song.
He came third on The Voice in 2008 before hitting the music road in his van and then Nashville.
James has written more than 200 songs and played TV shows, rodeos and festivals.

Max Jackson Holds Her Horses

Coonamble born treble Tamworth Golden Guitarist Max Jackson returns to our show with her new equine video Hold My Horses.
Max, born Makaylie Foodey, released her first album Life Of The Party in 2020.
She overcame asthma as a child to chase her music dreams and toured America where she wrote songs and played Nashville.
Hold My Horses is on her new album out this year.
Max hosted 2025 Golden Guitars show and won Female Artist of Year and her hit A Little More Country won Single of Year.

Bella Mackenzie And Lecade Wasted

Rockhampton singer-songwriter Bella Mackenzie is joined by LECADE on her return to our show with their Wasted video.
Cade Brinkley, 22 and known as LECADE, hails from Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Voice TV show star Bella, 20, was raised on her family farm wrangling horses, cows and trucks.
Her new Wasted video follows Country Cowboy on major label Island.
She rode high in the saddle with equine fillies and behind the wheel of a pick-up truck in Country Cowboy video that followed recent singles 1, 2, 3 You & Me, Ain’t For You, Make Me Wanna Love and Miss You No More.

She wrote Country Cowboy with Mitchell Fenlon, Tamworth songwriter/producer Penrose and ARIA nominee Ryan Miller.
“Cowboy was written to make the listener feel strong, proud and empowered. I knew I wanted to write a song that would not only pump up a festival crowd but also pump up that person sitting in their car listening”, Bella revealed.

Her video directed by Maddy King was filmed at Bella’s family farm in Rockhampton.
The collaborative experience with Bella’s family wrangling horses, cows and trucks vividly depicts her music.

Carly Pearce Truck On Fire

Kentuckian singer-songwriter Carly Pearce delivered fiery revenge when she discovered her belle’s beau was cheating in her new video.
Carly, now 34, delivered her type of summary justice.
She set fire to his truck.
Truck on Fire is on Carly’s fourth album Hummingbird.
She wrote her truck song with Justin Ebach and Charles Kelley.
Carly’s marriage to fellow country singer Michael Ray lasted eight months and she is dating Riley King, a former MLB player for the Kansas City Royals.
Carly previously fronted Nu Country with her videos for My Place, What He Didn’t Do, We Don’t Fight Anymore and Dear Miss Loretta – her homage to fellow Kentucky born belle Loretta Lynn who died at 90 on October 4, 2022.
Carly and Arkansas traveller Ashley McBryde won Grammy and CMA awards for Never Wanted To Be That Girl also on Nu Country TV.

South Dakota trailer park star Dennis Cockerham returns to our show with his latest crowd pleaser.
The Sioux Falls singer calls his music Trailer Park Country after releasing his 2023 debut single Tailgate Crazy.
It became an anthem for NFL tailgaters.

His latest video Dirty Rich Dirty Poor is on his new album.

George, Waylon, Merle and Willie Nelson were among country historian Barbara Dowling’s favourite Texans.
The Waylon, Highwaymen, Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.
She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.
Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon’s birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.
Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 81, and son Shooter, 45.
