Midland Are Barely Blue
Grammy winning Texan trio Midland return to our show after opening for singer-actor Tim McGraw and his singing spouse Faith Hill on one of his Australian tours.
They also headlined their own tours here.
Midland hails from Dripping Springs where Willie Nelson hosted some of his 44 July 4 picnics and performs Barely Blue – their sixth album title track.
They also fronted our show with Getting Lucky and Burn Out.
They took their name from Kentuckian singing actor Dwight Yoakam’s song Fair To Midland and turned cash flow into lucrative liquidity with wry word play in Top 10 hit Drinking Problem – one of 15 songs they wrote at Sonic Ranch near El Paso in West Texas.
Lead singer Mark Wystrach was an actor-underwear model before meeting bassist-video director Cameron Duddy and lead guitarist Jess Carson at Jess’s wedding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The trio released a five-song EP that features Drinking Problem written with Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally who also produced it.

Sydney singer-songwriter Coral Renee chooses pink for her Nu Country TV debut.
Coral, 18, was filmed by Josh and Tracy Beveridge at Roca Cafe Pink in Ramsgate.

Pink Is My Colour is her debut single.
“When I was younger I was taught that pink was only for girls and that it was a colour associated with weakness,” Coral revealed.

Coral graduated from Junior Academy of Country Music and Talent Development Project with a concert at ICC Sydney in 2024.
