DAVE'S DIARY - 15 DECEMBER 2003 - CARTER & CARTER

CARTER & CARTER & COGGAN

Victorian duo Carter & Carter have good reason to believe God will be on their side in 2004.
David and Merelyn Carter have again made the finals of the 32nd Australian Country Music Awards.

Their single Candle Light And Kisses won a Gold Guitar in 2003.

And in 2004 their finalists include a vocal collaboration on 'Busy Man' with Wagga born singer-songwriter Darren Coggan who was the male lead in the Ginger Meggs stage show.

The song joined fellow finalists 'Dancing Shoes' and 'Lead Me Home' as one of five singles from their second album 'Every Minute.'

Coggan cut solo albums before his stage role lead to his teaming with Carter & Carter on a song that topped national country airplay charts.

FOUR GOLD GUITAR FINALS FOR 2003

This time Carter & Carter has four finals nominations -
Every Minute - Album Of The Year.
Dancing Shoes - Vocal group/duo.
Busy Man with Darren Coggan - Vocal Collaboration
Lead Me Home - Single Of The Year.

EVERY MINUTE TICKED IN 2003

The duo's album, 'Every Minute, was launched at a lavish free show at Tamworth on Wednesday January 22, 2003.

It was the culmination of a hectic year of touring that has taken them as far afield as New Zealand and Norfolk Island and all states of Australia.

The Ringwood based duo epitomise the Aussie work ethic with a stream of endless touring to showcase their original songs.

Community and Christian radio has given wide exposure to their catchy originals 'Dance Away The Night and 'A Little Place Called Love' from their debut CD.

And the duo also won airplay for their tasteful cover of celebrated Colorado raised singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters tune 'Bordertown.'

STEPEN BRUTON - AL ANDERSON

'You Were There' - written by hotshot guitarists Stephen Bruton and Al Anderson of NRBQ and Carlene Carter fame - also received wide airplay.

'Easy Making Love' - a single from 'Every Minute' - also scored two Gold Guitar nominations at the 2002 Gold Guitar awards.

The duo's energetic work earned them a dozen awards in 2001 and nominations for another nine in 2002.

They made a video clip for their single 'Lead Me Home' and won deserved exposure on the CMC music show on the Austar regional pay TV network.

And, with frequently updated web page and regular press releases, there are few local cyber country fans who don't know of Carter & Carter.
