BRAD PAISLEY HEADLINES NU COUNTRY TV

Treble Grammy winning West Virginian singer-songwriter Brad Paisley headlines Nu Country TV on Saturday January 13 at 6.30 pm on Channel 31/ Digital 44.

Louisiana singing actor Trace Adkins boomerangs to the show hosted, filmed and produced by Laith Graham and repeated Tuesday at 1.30 am.

North Carolina chart topper Luke Combs and Virginian band Old Dominion return to Behind Bars.

Prolific Louisiana born singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson and Northcote music teacher Michael Meeking also return this week.

Nu Country TV is a highlight of C 31 streaming list on Digital 44.

BRAD HEADS TO THE MOUNTAINS

Brad Paisley explores Appalachian moonshine country and mountains in his return to our show.

Brad, now aged 51, was joined by a vast cast including bluegrass icons Dan Tyminski and Jerry Douglas in his Son Of The Mountains video - his 13th album title track.

Paisley has his own American Highway bourbon franchise that he promotes and takes on tour with him.

The whiskey was aged in barrels stored in 53-foot semi-trailer that followed his 2019 U.S. tour for 7,314 miles across 25 states.

Paisley worked with distiller Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky - Bourbon Capitol of the World.

“Bourbon is like songwriting, it's a blend of things coming together to make something incredible,” Paisley revealed.

“These are really special barrels that saw more of the United States than most people I know.”

Paisley left it at home on his latest Australian tour in 2022.

Brad toured with expat Novocastrian Morgan Evans and Mackenzie Porter with gigs at Rod Laver Arena, Deni Ute Muster and CMC Rocks Queensland.

Brad chose different drinks for previous Nu Country pandemic videos City Of Music, The No 1 In Beer and My Miracle filmed in iso with viral guests Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell, Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood and more.

Brad and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley founded The Store nonprofit free-referral based grocery store in Nashville.

TRACE ADKINS SOMEWHERE IN AMERICA

Four times wed Louisiana singing actor Trace Adkins celebrates his 62nd birthday today on his return to our show.

Trace has five daughters and starred in 24 movies and TV shows including The Lincoln Lawyer, Hickock, Traded, Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story, An American Carol, Bennett's War and The Virginian.

This time he appeared at a live benefit concert to raise funds after a 2021 west Kentucky tornado killed more than 50 people.

It also destroyed many homes in Mayfield and beyond.

Somewhere In America is on his 14th album The Way I Want To Go .

Adkins proved a master of ruptured romance in previous Nu Country videos Empty Chair, Ain't That Kind Of Cowboy and Heartbreak Song - one of 25 on his 13th album The Way I Want To Go.

Trace's song album featured Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Pitbull, Melissa Etheridge, Keb Mo , Snoop Dogg and Stevie Wonder on songs including Jesus Was A Hippie.

LUKE COMBS BACK BEHIND BARS

North Caolina chart-topper Luke Combs returns to Behind Bars after his second sold out Australian tour in August last year.

Vince Gill joined him on stage at the 57th CMA awards in Music City last year as they performed One More Last Chance from Gill's 1993 album I Still Believe In You.

Luke celebrated the birth of his second son Beau by recently performing an acoustic video of his song Take You With Me from his fourth album Getting Old on our show.

Combs, now 33, and wife Nicole welcomed Beau in September after Luke sold out his eight concerts on his second Australian tour in August.

Luke took time out on his tour to catch a Collingwood-Brisbane game at Mickey Mouse house in Docklands.

Combs was a VIP guest of former Carlton and Adelaide star Eddie Betts.

So it was fitting Brisbane champion Charlie Cameron named some Luke songs in his post-game TV interview with Brian Taylor on the Seven Network.

OLD DOMINION DUAL HORSEPOWER

Virginian quintet Old Dominion explore two types of horsepower in their Nu Country return.

Some Horses is on their fifth album Memory Lane .

The band formed in Nashville in 2007 after writing hits for diverse artists and perform as Old Dominion - nickname of home state Virginia.

They played 2018 CMC Rocks Queensland festival before returning to the U.S. where they filmed Never Be Sorry from their self-titled fourth album.

Old Dominion released a documentary to support previous video Some People Do.

It details celebrity men's groomer Jason Schneidman who worked with Old Dominion after being homeless and overcoming drug addiction.

Jason helps Los Angeles homeless, providing free haircuts to connect with those battling addiction issues and funds scholarships to rehab centres.

The band supported Schneidman's Men's Groomer Foundation that helps people get off the street and back on their feet and works with rehabs in California providing funding through sales of Schneidman's products.

Band member Brad Tursi wrote Light It Up with Luke Bryan on his sixth chart topping album What Makes You Country that he toured here to promote.

Old Dominion also fronted Nu Country with Dancing Forever, Make It Sweet, Hotel Key, Written In The Sand, Be With Me, Song From Another Time, Shoe Shopping and No Such Thing As A Broken Heart.

LAINEY WILSON SIPS WATERMELON MOONSHINE

Prolific Louisiana born CMA Award winner Lainey Wilson had a pleasant surprise on her return.

She found a Mason jar of whiskey in a fertile paddock that created memorable love storms for the young lovers in her new video Watermelon Moonshine on her fourth album Bell Bottom Country

Lainey, now 31, won 5 major awards at the 57th CMA show last year.

Lainey and Lukas Nelson performed Dolly Parton-Kenny Rogers hit You Can't Make Old Friends at Leslie Jordan's tribute concert on Nu Country.

Lukas and Lainey previously fronted our show with their More Than Friends video.

MICHAEL MEEKING NOT STREAKING

Northcote singer-songwriter and music teacher Michael Meeking takes to the roads and tunnels in his new video.

He pleaded with his belle for one more chance in love.

Running Down Your Street Again is one of his 10 originals on his fifth album The Night Air launched on March 25, 2023, at Union Hotel, Brunswick.

Michael released three albums with his Lost Souls band - bassist Julien Chick, guitarist Chris Gates and drummer Dave Kleynjans.

He wrote songs for fourth solo album November '72 during lockdown and paid homage to times when he and friends escaped to a remote property in regional Victoria.

Michael previously fronted our show with Lonesome, Good Times Will Come Again and Where You Going To.

Meeking grew up in Upper Beaconsfield before moving to London for six years in his late twenties and uses locales diverse as Mansfield, Lake Eildon, Sorrento back beach and Blairgowrie in his videos.

The Waylon, Highwaymen , Merle and George discs were donated by Barbara who died at 77 in December, 2020.

She co-hosted Long In The Saddle in our Nu Country FM era and was pioneer Australian and Victorian country music awards judge.

Barbara was admired for rising above losing her sight as a young woman and her country passion with annual trips to Waylon's birthplace in Littlefield, West Texas.

Waylon died at 64 on February 13, 2002, and is survived by singing spouse Jessi, now 80, and son Shooter, 44.
